  1. For the knowledgeable here, had last night’s storm produced a “superbolt” (either in the U.K. or France) would we know? I assume scientists monitor storms and there’d be data, somewhere?
  2. Well that was a banging night, woke me up! Amazing thunder & lightning, must be the loudest storm I've ever heard. Bring on more please!
  3. *Stormforce~beka* I’ll try but I’m knackered so will likely sleep through it as usual
  4. *Stormforce~beka* & @Sam jackson88 howdy neighbours, funny we’re all here again lol! Still think we should move to Kent though.
  5. Rush2019 Also known fondly as the "Met Office kiss of death"
  6. Maybe we're just getting old Saying that, I do remember many nights as a child hiding from thunderstorms in my sister's bed, and I do feel like the 70's & 80's were more prolific than now, sadly.
  7. I always groan when those pop up, it’s like the “Murray Walker kiss of death”
  8. Nope, 2nd day in a row of sitting here in the south and crying lol!
  9. I am sharing that hope, just spotted the AC myself.
  10. The hold for Gatwick earlier this afternoon was dizzying.
  11. @*Stormforce~beka* dunno about you mate but I’m feeling cheated & left out while these amazing storms happen!
  12. I’m hearing the thunder from that, so deep & rumbly! Would love to know what the actual storm looks like.
  13. I get that storm- loving fans are disappointed, but does anyone actually read past the abbreviated notification warning any more? I’ve attached the Met Office “further details” attached to the warning - look at what I’ve ringed in red; “most” means the majority and the confidence chart is “unlikely”. I know people are disappointed but the Met Office have done the right thing. Plus many of us enthusiasts know not to get our hopes up too far in advance & to watch the radar nearer the time. P.S. the text says late afternoon/early evening. It’s early evening now and there are sferics on the radar. Just in someone else’s back garden lol.
