  1. Once again well above average at 12c. Boke. Boke. I hope this does not have a detrimental effect when the cold does eventually come.
  2. And I suppose this updates everyday does it? To be honest I follow the jamstec as it seems to be pretty reliable.
  3. Yes we did however that was from a storm. Without the storm it rarely snowed.
  4. That would be brilliant. My area does extremely well in Northernly airmasses and a northernly airmass akin to 2010 would be perfect. We got snow by the buckets in 2010. I would love to experience a month of constant subzero weather, 2010 got near but not by enough.
  5. Using Ogimet it appears that I have had about 15 days which is half of the month. I did not realise I had so many single figure mins, I suppose what is uncommon is the lack of 'cold' nights.
  6. Of course but it would just be like this March where my area got cloud and a stiff wind with very little in the way of snow except for when a front pulls through.
  7. Well it is not sunny here if it was 17c everyday and 2c at night with sunshine I would be more accepting of this weather but it is constantly cloudy so I see no fun out of this.
  8. I'm going on gut feelings which is not at all good but it's just what I feel.
  9. It depends where you are situated in the British isles. For my area we do not get much out of a Scandi high at all to be honest.
  10. Thank you for keeping the thread on topic. I notice a big jump in snow cover from 27th to 29th. Would you say this is well above average?
  11. November does not look very good either. Positive uppers to 62North.
  12. To be honest here we usually have our first snow flakes by mid-November so it is not that far away - 2 days of snow fall here according to met office. December is winter in my books which is two months away.
  13. Done! I do realise that, but here in Northern Ireland we generally don't really have weather this warm at this time of the year i.e. 12c at nights. I'm sure it's not rare by any means but it is not common for it to last so long. I would like to experience a few low single figure minimums as of now but we are not going to get anywhere near that and I think that our frost will be mid-November this year. In comparison last year Castlederg recorded the first frost on September 22nd. I can wait for the cold weather but I don't like to be having 17/18c in October.
  14. Looking at the data for last year it appears that we had about 5 double figure nights in September and at this point we were having nights at around 5c.
  15. It is already tedious. Exactly if all they think about is heating bills then must have pretty boring lives and lets be honest the bills aren't going to be that much higher and maybe they aren't really weather enthusiats. A true weather enthusiast does not care about bills.
  16. We are well on track for this winter to be mildest on record. This past three months I have had about 10 single figure night and 80 double figure nights which is definitely well above average for my area. At this exact date the average minimum is 7.5c and right now at 8pm the temperature is 14.5c! I have not seen this kind of weather in my area at this time of the year for quite a while and cannot remember the last time it was so long lasting, I do not think that this weather will wane through October like some seem to think, Infact I would say it will take to the end of November for it to go away. The models are all showing strong signals for this warmth and actually picked it up very early. It is very depressing as a winter lover and actually quite annoying as the diurnal ranges are nothing to be excited about. And what is fun about being trapped under dark drizzly low cloud day in day out? Bills aside it is rather boring. And lets be honest if you are going on about bills so much perhaps your house is too big for alot of you.
  17. Goodness no when its 12c everynight why would I? Thats well above average and quite frankly disgusting for this time of the year.
  18. Exactly it is especially annoying on the Snow and ICE thread where I go on daily but more recently they actually haven't really talked about the snow.
