Its been snowing all morning. Theres more snow today on the hills than on thursday. Temp is 1.5c. Will drive up later Theres far more snow on binevenagh, its all foggy so I cant see it.

Yes it is but the colder upper air is making in roads. Its just that icy rain that you get. But the sky does have the orange colour that you get. Im sure its snowing up the road. Temp is basically stalled about 2.9c with a high humidity so it will not drop without intense rain. Sorry my camera is cat you can barely see the orange. Edit: 2:44 the temp is away down like a rocket as the rain has picked up. 2.6c again. Edit: 2:47 really fast now temp is 2.3c Temp has been stuck at 2.2c for 50 minutes now..

The rain has finally arrived. It's 2.6c with a dew point of 1.6c. So the chance of snow is basically 0 percent. However, evaporative cooling will probably lower the snow level.

Showers keep missing ni because they just go from north to south. Winds need to go westerly and then game is on. Temp is stalled at 3.5c. Boring. Think if we got the showers we'd easily see snow

That shower came here and it dropped temp to 4c. Dew point is 0c now. Latest nae. Suggests -7c uppers and seems to think we will see snow on Monday too.

Its 5c so temp hasn't got much to drop. I notice showers are forming and coming in. For tomorrow met office mention "merging". Exciting!

The nae and Euro4 disagree. Tbh if the temp is about 3c and the shower is heavy it really doesn't matter. I was down in coleraine and it was ice cold. Oh my goodness, bitter.

Christmas eve (my birthday) is looking very cold. 0-1c max with snow showers, with the low pressure so close the snow may be frequent and heavy. Looking forward to the snow starting tonight about midnight.

I get you now. What you have to do is convert the pressure into altitude at sea level and then the pressure at 850 into an altitude and then calculate it from there. Or something like that.

What do you mean? Are you saying that the 850 temps are not always at 5000feet? Explain to me how to work out what height it is please. No it wasn't evaporative cooling. It maxed out at 2c.

Lately it has cooled down significantly with yesterday being my 4th day of snow falling this season. However, uppers are not really that cold with freezing levels at 700m yesterday. We had snow lying to 150m and max temps of 2/3c. Looking at next week bar today it is looking sub 5c. Yet uppers are only -5c at lowest. Why is this? Someone on the scottish thread mentioned low pressure, but I don't understand what effect that would have? And surely if the freezing level is 700m there would be no snow lying below that? Explain then why we had lying snow to 150m yesterday?

Think I will personally see snow with a max temp of about 2c.

Bobbarley I think they are just being very biased to their location. They don't do good in any cold spell except from the east to be honest. I feel sorry for them, 9c on christmas day. BOKE. Looking forward to tomorrow night onwards. Forecast for Sunday shows snow, I expect the coldness to upgrade - especially on Monday, they overdoing that warm up. I think we will see some proper lying snow soon, it is only around the corner.

Well met office have me down for snow and 3c on Sunday. So I guess thats when we will see our next snow. In a mild blip today, the snow is melting off the hills already.

Yes showers have turned back to rain but its still snowing above 150m. The temp right now is 1.5c so it is a very cold rain. Snow will be back for Sunday though so I don't really care as we will see it again. And Tuesday aswell.

Yes I can see them on the radar. Lets hope the snow continues and the temps drop so we can ALL get a dusting.

The mild uppers will come in at 12pm. The met office have me down for snow at 6am. So we may just get a dusting it depends. Whatever the case it started to stick in the last shower, there is ice/slush on my car and on the deck.

The temperature is 0.8c. A heavy snow shower which lasted 90mins has just passed. Temp is down to 0.8c. There is a cm on all surfaces including the road at 150m, I am at 50m so the snowline is very close. I am hoping this next shower will drop the temp sufficiently for me to get a covering. Its calm but when it gusts its really gusty. Temp has dropped to 4c and dew point is now -1c. Probs snow from now on
