  1. Alderc 2.0 this week looks to be low 20s, dry with sunny spells here. Is the forecast for the south worse or something?
  2. Tuesday could be a bit meh but otherwise you can’t go wrong with a forecast like this in May
  3. I’ve hardly paid any attention to the models recently so I’m not worrying over variation from one run to the next. I really think some people are secretly happiest when miserable
  4. Nice to have a decent forecast for once. Finally feels like we’ve broken out of the rainy, unsettled pattern.
  5. In Absence of True Seasons I’m not sure if that’s better or worse though - to have a spell of nice, warm weather for a week, then suddenly it’s single digit maximums again like January. It’s basically like the weather saying ‘spring here is here - just kidding it’s winter again’. Seriously though, it’s been very wet and dull for most of western and Northern Europe since July last year.
  6. At least it’s been a bad spring for most of Europe, not just us. Look at this yucky Munich forecast for example
  7. A lovely day - plenty of sunshine and the wind has finally buggered off. MP-R similar to March when Madrid was having lots of rain, sleet and even a bit of snow. It’s not been an amazing spring anywhere in Western Europe this year. Eastern Europe has been very warm though.
  8. If we lived in a country with hot summers then I’d agree - in places like Florida people are over the heat and humidity by September and are looking forward to something a bit cooler - but I think most people in this country are happy to see summer-like weather continue for as long as possible, simply because we don’t have super reliable summers in the first place. We need to make the most of whatever warm weather we get before the inevitable descent into gloom and darkness begins.
  9. April 2021 would have made a good March.
  10. 2013 was indeed a good summer - July was phenomenal and August was decent. June was a bit poor but otherwise I would take a repeat of 2013.
  11. The next week looks pretty good. Would prefer it to be slightly warmer but I won’t complain.
  12. Scorcher yeah the Met office forecast here shows no rain after today. The BBC always seem to show rain for some reason.
  13. raz.org.rain it would be a warm-summer Mediterranean climate like Seattle or Portland, as opposed to the hot-summer Mediterranean climates like Athens or Seville.
  14. Scorcher even if our population started declining we would still need significant investment in our infrastructure to make up for the last 50 years of under-investment.
