    Very heavy wet snow and just had a rumble of thunder too!

    We have snow! It is a bit wet but we have a covering. For the record this is only about the second day this winter that we have had any snow falling. Very unusual!

    Very windy here on the north side of the Cairn O Mount and the snow has just started. They sky has been getting very heavy and it is getting darker all the time so think we may get a good dumping! On the plus side the wind is so strong it will be horizontal snow and wont lie!!

    Wind is dying down here. Had powercut from 6.30 to 9.30 and has just gotten very dark. That is the snow starting but is horizontal at the moment!

    Snow showers most of the morning between Banchory and Fettercairn but it seems to have stopped now. Very windy but the sun is trying it's best to come out and stay out!

    Been snowing here all day. Snowgates on the Cairn O Mount were shut at 9am this morning as the Police now go on weather forecast rather than the actual road conditions, Have around 2 inches and the wind is now picking up too so reckon tomorrow will be interesting!

    Still snowing here and a lot of local schools closing at 1pm today due to forecast.

    Be snowing here for about an hour. Very small flakes but it is overcast and looks like it is set for all day. Have around 18 inches of snow so it will be interesting to see how much we end up with as much deeper and our 4x4 will even struggle.

    Another couple of inches through the night so the snow is now over wellie height! Got really foggy about an hour ago then had a heavy snow shower but it has now stopped and everything has now cleared. Infact I can now see blue sky for the first time in about three days!

    It has snowed all night here and we have a fresh fall of around 4 inches. Still windy so I am guessing there will be a lot of drifting out and about.

    it is the local farmer with council supplied plough that keeps our road manageable but they don't grit so we have to wait until all the other roads have been done before they grit here.

    We have had about 2cm of snow overnight. Still windy and temp is +1.2.

    Ok, sussed how to add photos. This was our local hills yesterday morning.

    The Norwegians are saying we will get snow too http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Glen_Dye/ Batten down our hatches. I'll take photos for those who are missing it once I find out how to post them!

    Our local radio station (Northsound 1) have just reported that up to 8 inches of snow could fall in places through Aberdeenshire tomorrow!

    That is the snow stopped here. We had a good 5 - 6 cms fall in about two hours. Still very overcast.

    It is snowing here again. Snowed all day yesterday but the ground was wet so didn't stay. We have had a frost through the night last night and it is now lying!

    I'll say hello again too. Have posted only a few times but read (and learn) from here on a regular basis! I am 25 miles inland from Aberdeen and live half way up the Cairn O Mount road - which is the first to be closed and the last to be opened when it snows! We tend to be amongst the first to get snow, and usually keep it longer too! I can't lamppost watch as the nearest one is 5 miles away but I check regularly! Happy to post photo when/if it snows. The one on the left was taken in 2009 when we had lots of snow! Aud

    We have had a good three inches of snow overnight and it is still falling. It is a bit windier today too.

    Been snowing here all day and finally stopped just after 3pm. Temperature sitting at 0 c.
