  1. Pretty poor attempt at a real cold night last night, started out well getting down to -3.9c at around 8, but didn't drop from there. 2018's easterly was much more potent getting down to -6.1c the day before March! and four days in it was still was going strong 4 days in, this spell has already peaked. I'd put this easterly similar to the Feb 2012 one but even that had a low of -5.9c and deeper snow into inland parts rather than just the Eastern Coasts. Feb/March 2018, January & March 2013, all of the winter months of 2009 and 2010 were all better than this.

The Met office doesn't cover Brighton Sunday (it does East Sussex but Brighton is normally depicted on its own).  I'm a bit shocked at that - the charts are showing me different even for the Coast.  Hoping for upgrades as i'm building a sledge!!

The Metoffice/BBC warnings are almost always stupid for our location, they seem to think the Sussex Coast is Valencia or Málaga or something! During East/NE flows we are just as cold as inland, likewise as in summer when Heathrow was the same temperature as Shoreham/Thorney Island at 35c during the early August heatwave. Our main hinderance will be if we don't enough precipiation because Sunday-Thursday A:M definately looks cold enough for snow.

  5. On the negative side it does countinue to show the effects GW is having, with the whole of winter 15/16, Feburary 2017, Jan 2018, Dec 18, Feb 19, Dec 19 and Feb 20 all being well above average months in the country. And somehow one of the coldest months during the 21st Century in Spain still manages a heatwave at the end.
