  1. Incredible given how cold the Netherlands and Germany were just a week and 1/2 ago, Berlin looks set to do the same.
  2. No frost/ice either, even though it was -3c last night. Bring on Spring/Summer, it is much needed this year.
  3. Pretty poor attempt at a real cold night last night, started out well getting down to -3.9c at around 8, but didn't drop from there. 2018's easterly was much more potent getting down to -6.1c the day before March! and four days in it was still was going strong 4 days in, this spell has already peaked. I'd put this easterly similar to the Feb 2012 one but even that had a low of -5.9c and deeper snow into inland parts rather than just the Eastern Coasts. Feb/March 2018, January & March 2013, all of the winter months of 2009 and 2010 were all better than this.

  6. Temperature dropping remarkably fast here, already -3c, if only the snow fell now haha. Will be interesting to see how low we drop tonight.
  7. Moderate snow snowers earlier, slightly settling on unmelted patches of ground, better than yesterday at least.
  8. If this doesn't make it to the Brighton conurbation I don't know what will!
  9. Far eastern areas have done very well out of this, I'm guessing the highest snow depth since 2013?
  10. Much warmer than forecasted, now at 1.5c. whilst yesterday morning was good, so far SNOWVID21 has nothing on the real beast from 2018. Even places in East Sussex and Medway got nowhere near as much snow as they should have. Now looking to see how cold the next few nights will get, -6c possible.
  11. Snowfall forming all around Sussex but are the downs going to slow it's progress towards the Brighton & Worthing area?
  12. Looking like it will be the coldest day since March 2nd 2018 with the temperature standing at -0.87c and unlikely to move much.
  13. We got the lightest dusting from the snow towards the end but overall on Day 1 of Beast 2020 extended vs 2018 it is Feburary 26th 2018>Feburary 7th 2021
  14. Think Brighton could be in with a good chance around 4-5 when the temperature drops but it is unknown the intensity of the snow at that point.
  15. Light snow here now. Temperatures seem to be dropping back towards 1c now, IF this continues later on I think things could start to get more interesting.
  16. To be honest it doesn't even look like the lucky areas such as Kent are doing that well either. So far it is BFTE 1 BFTE 2.0 0. I'm moving to Rotterdam.
  17. Netherlands have a very similar climate to SE but do MUCH better for thunderstorms!
  18. The Metoffice/BBC warnings are almost always stupid for our location, they seem to think the Sussex Coast is Valencia or Málaga or something! During East/NE flows we are just as cold as inland, likewise as in summer when Heathrow was the same temperature as Shoreham/Thorney Island at 35c during the early August heatwave. Our main hinderance will be if we don't enough precipiation because Sunday-Thursday A:M definately looks cold enough for snow.
  19. Also no snow showing whatsoever for Portsmouth when we got nearly 10CM! the GFS snowcasts are a good model to go on but not to be taken too seriously.
  20. GFS12Z very reminiscent of Feburary 2nd 2009 & December 1st/2nd 2010, huge upgrade for something just a week away. the flip flopping between runs makes it hard to believe though, it'll be a miracle if it's still there on tomorrow's 0z
  21. The Spanish climatic version of Anaheim, East L.A.
  22. On the negative side it does countinue to show the effects GW is having, with the whole of winter 15/16, Feburary 2017, Jan 2018, Dec 18, Feb 19, Dec 19 and Feb 20 all being well above average months in the country. And somehow one of the coldest months during the 21st Century in Spain still manages a heatwave at the end.
  23. Absolute insanity in my favourite country in this earth. After just two weeks of maxs of 6-8c on the coasts and -21c in Teruel, it is touching 30c in Alicante.
  24. Beautiful hoar frost this morning. With a low of -3,5c. Fog really created a magical frigid atmosphere earlier. Here's some snaps from the A:M. Hopefully we'll be seeing plenty of this in the next 2 months, With a snow covering on top.
