  2. Small flakes but heavy now here. either the band is moving west of whats here has intensified.
  3. Still snowing here too and its really wild out there bet the colder air has finally under cut these systems.
  4. Thing is in regards to percip the forecast and the radar can be wrong both have been witnessed to be time and time again. I'm no expert but i have lurked on this site since about 2006 mainly in the MOD forum in winter and i feel us midlanders really ought to wait and see until tomorrow still we need to accept most times this is the most snow starved place in the UK due to our land locked location and those pesky penines and the welsh mountains which gobble up any percipitation that heads our way. And Ideal North easteries and easteries are rare 1991 springs to mind....in this regard
  5. Hi all Hahaha Parts of cannock are much higher. A pint of bitter jukebox or mild lol? .... Here near Bescot....im guessing 2 inches or 5cm at most so far still light to moderate snow flakes maybe 3 to 6mm flakes at the moment. and this event is progged to last until late tomorrow so lets wait and see eh.
  6. Very light snow here not long ago started (five hundred yard/metres as the crow flies from Junction 9 of the M6 motorway)here.
  7. Its been light flakes but moderate to heavy since the morning here foot prints in the snow have almost disappeared....must be/feel bitter outside none of the streets kids are playing in it lol
  8. We are white in Walsall (near Pleck and Bescot) but but its light stuff a inch to an inch and a half at the very most so far still snowing.
  9. time to get lampost watching met are now forecasting some light percipitation over night into the early morning...might have a dusting for thursday as a teaser...or maybe not
  10. Hi all im with BornFromtheVoid on this there was a sudden change come 2007.....what with the PDO now negative ...and solar factors...last 6 years the jet has often been south of us there has been more northern hemisphere blocking....but the weather for us will always change.
  11. total ice rink outside......very nasty
  12. Half of winter has almost gone........and the wee lads in the forecast and strat thread expect us to keep the faith...imao SSW dont always provide for us it just means more chances of blocks in the northern hemisphere they could be anywhere. .
  13. None here about 2 miles from you I love snow
  14. I live near bescot and we are snowless now lol...its all melted lol shuggee
  15. hmmm les than 2.5 cm of snow in walsall after hours of it falling..imao
  16. hours of snow and less than an inch.......on the ground
  17. The BBC always add one or two C to the temps as they like to promote climate change ignore it might be true due to urban heat island effect but just iggy
  18. heavy snow starting to cover all surfaces now ...lets hope it continues until the morning
  19. google metociel and pick under models gfs europe
  20. Never ever believe the Beeb temps they forecast they always add a degree or two to the temps....
  21. Looks bad as usual ....but i bet the north, east and south east will be ok as usual....in the model discussion u will get the usual anything can happen crap..blah blah...headlines in the paper snow paralyses London (even if they've had an only an inch of snow or a kentimetre) lol. Cold like what is forecast just doesn’t appeal to me unless its accompanied by the white stuff im afraid. And currently i looks like this warm sector will turn it too rain for us west of brum...unless evaporate cooling occurs.
  22. Hello all, Been a lurker since at least 2007 and a member a year or so but i hardly post.. Yeah Jan 5th 2010 was a surprise....but while i hate to sound negative....the western parts of the midlands do miss out more than the eastern half and the rest of the east of england....and when we do get snow its 2 to 4 inches tops (5cm to 10cm) even dec 2010 it took two snowfalls to get the 7 inches of(17.5cm) snow we got in total last time i saw snow deeper than 5inches in one fall was feb 1996 why do you think the model discussion is in meltdown ...its because the usual suspects are happy there gonna get some snow (to be fair at least the imbyish isnt as bad as 2009/2010). Suffice to say in snow terms im not confident at all for monday there have been too many letdowns over the years . still i could be wrong...but our inland location and those rain shadows the welsh mountains and the penines dont help us.
