  2. Wow. Just looked outside and there's a dusting of snow on grass cars and rooftops, like here on my conservatory roof.
  3. Great snowfall earlier this morning. Was at work at the time but it came down really heavy with huge 50p sized flakes at one point. Which was crazy to see so far into April. It didn't settle though which was a bit disappointing. It could well have done had it been dark I think. There was a very slight settling early this morning though which amounted to the odd small patch of accumulated snow on the grass and rooftops but it was much lighter snow then so was struggling really and was obviously too warm by the time the proper stuff hit. Can't be too disappointed though considering the time of year.
  4. Big beefy shower just passed through. Even settled very very slightly.
  5. Massive heavy snow falling here blowing in the wind. Won't really settle though, but quite a novelty for the month of April still.

  7. Got something white falling here too. Think it's just hail though really. Came down very heavy a few moments ago and is starting to intensify again now.
  8. A pretty decent Winter here. Quite a snowy period late December into early January. Then another even better snowy spell on the 24th January. Only lasted a couple of days really but was great to have none the less. The second week of February cold spell, though not giving copious amounts of snow, I still enjoyed the dry powdery nature of the little we did get along with the frigid temperatures and ice it brought. Loved walking on hard frozen ground with patches of snow around and a hard frozen canal along side. Of course had we had more snow then it would have been better, but I still appreciated it for what it was. Not sure whether I'd rank it above Winter 2017/18 or not though. That Winter had a pretty good snowy spell in early to mid December round these parts, which was if I remember rightly was deeper than the deepest snow we had this Winter (24th Jan) and lasted a little longer too. Not forgetting the beast from the east in late Feb/early March 2018 and even the mini beast of mid March. If we're strictly speaking the period 1st Dec to 28th Feb then technically it might be said Winter 2020/21 was better than 2017/18 but practically speaking it probably isn't. Although that might still change I'm certainly not anticipating it. What it certainly was better than though by a country mile was Winters 2018/19 and 2019/20 as well as all 4 Winters from 2013/14 to 2016/17.

  10. I like it. In actual Spring and Summer. Not now. Besides any warm sunshine we have now doesn't necessarily translate to the same come the late Spring and Summer months. Often not. Think back to 2012 when we had a warm and sunny March, only to be followed by a cool wet Summer. The extremely cold March's of 2013 and 18 on the other hand were followed by nice Summers. Besides I like Winters to be wintry, which is why I found some of the eagerness for the cold spell just gone to end from coldies even, just because there wasn't loads of snow a bit strange. Of course that would of been preferable but at least I could look out my window and see a bit of snow. It was properly cold too, which I feel we were lucky to get (considering most Winters these days) with frozen canals, icicles and frozen soil which stopped it been muddy. At least it felt like proper Winter and even if that particular spell wasn't particularly snowy, at least we had the late December to early January and late January snowy spells round these parts go make up for it. Oh well March could still deliver. It's already done well as a non Winter month twice this past decade after all.
  11. Not to mention a pretty wet summer followed. As NEB highlighted also with Feb's 2009 and 2012. That's Summer over then.
  12. Although not extreme, wasn't the very mild temps in late Feb 19 followed by chilly temps in early Spring. Early April seemed quite cool from memory, though it was quite sunny too.
  13. Great wintry scenery at chasewater too. Proper Winter look, unlike that mild rubbish some on here want, just because there isn't 3 foot of snow.
  14. Beautiful day out today. Plenty of wintry scenes. Even a bit of snow still if you look for it. Like here at the old railway line in Brownhills. Got to agree about wishing for warm weather now. It can wait until the end of March at least as far as this coldies concerned.
  15. Snowing here now too, it's pretty light though apart from a slightly heavier burst a minute ago. Settling ok though now the suns gone down. Might get a bit more soon hopefully.
