Seems that the south of the region is yet again doing much better out of this spell. Very little of note from Durham up it seems (at low levels). Boro and Darlo seem to be having much more success.
Not sure... my technical understanding of this is poor, but these showers pepped up over land rather than convecting in from the sea... in my experience the former tend to make it over more than the latter.
Take him up to the Pennines - between Stanhope and Middleton is a good place - I did that last year and found enough snow for the kids to go sledging and build a snowman. I won't let a winter go by without them getting to do both.
My ridge tiles (9 of them!!) fell off on Friday in that storm. If she's got sarking (sp?) felt underneath then she should be OK. We had torrential rain after they fell off and the loft was dry as a bone.
It will be snow across the west country and a large portion of the south.
Here, though, I doubt it.
Even the Easterly in the models doesn't currently look good for here - from Yorks south loads of snow though. You couldn't make it up! :/
