  1. I checked the France Meteo website and the Nord Pas-de-Calais is under a snow warning, whereas everything to the South is under a freezing rain/snow warning. The description states that some areas will start as snow, switch to freezing rain, then back to snow. For the Pas-De-Calais, they are estimating up to 20cm of snow, as it will stay as all snow. Sounds like it could be a real travel mess.

100 Miles north...and it could have been us!

  2. Temp rose to -2.3c overnight, but now back at -2.6c with a DP of -3.9c. Had to escort my wife to the main road in my car this morning - our village doesn't get gritted. Very icy and about 3-4cm of powdered snow on top. Drove towards Orpington and some roads were better than others. Court Road from Hewitt's roundabout to Chelsfield was good, but after that, it got covered in drifting snow.

Now been out with the mutt, and the snow is moderate and steady, but flakes are much bigger now. If this keeps up, we will get a good covering today. The main streamer seems just to the north, but this is already the heaviest I have seen since Sunday afternoon.

  3.  Temp -0.9c and DP -1.5c. Been for a 2 hour walk with the mutt, we have seen every type of snow. We descended around 40-50m, and noticeable that snow was less dense. On the way back up here, had a brief blizzard with gusty winds and blowing heavy big flaked snow. Now we have steady snow, but flakes are quite small. We are pushing 5cm and none of the drip, drip drip we normally get. It's also noticeable how this snow is sticking to trees and gates, and it was quite crunchy and icy on the gates and fences.

Can see snow blowing off neighbours roofs, and already grass covered in drifts.

Just up the road from me.. I drove into tesco river head through poll hill this morning and was pleasantly surprised with a fair cover on the verges and the roundabout by the garden center.. just shows what a little height can do as 2 miles down the road in Orpington nothing..

Yes, my garden still has a covering from yesterday morning and no sign of it disappearing. Today never got above 0.5c, so not much melted.
