blizzard81 fair enough but your wording made it come across like you were suggesting we are in a better place to make a forecast than the pros and that will never be true.
andymusic look at scandy... so jealous

andymusic think thats gonna be the track -surprisingly as they professionals are/have been saying all along

blizzard81 it's a very brave (or possibly foolish) call to say we are ahead of the professionals. They have much more data (and experience) than all of us put together even if it is old data they must have some reason to be as bullish as they are

So does the front not make it north now?
-
TillyS very knowledgeable you are. To quote miles cyrus "you came in like a wrecking ball" snatching any excitement we may have had

To be fair on all forecasts I've seen nobody's mentioned snow other than in areas that normally get lucky e.g. the north lol

Time to look forward to lighter nights and mornings, flowers blooming and green trees.

Latest bbc forecast had gusts of 67mph even inland... met warning says 45-55mph

@on the coast I'm very surprised, your not that far from me and its wild
-
I think here we are getting lee gusts from the pennines whereas with isha they were protecting us
-
Yellow warning and gusts already higher than isha and its supposed to get worse. Really don't understand the met sometimee
-
Omg this is worse than isha 100 percent
-
@Mcconnor8 thank you. I did find it strange how areas south were getting battered and there's not even a breeze here at the moment. Strange how the met aren't reacting?
-
Strange. It's been really calm here for about 2 hours
Gusts of 70mph plus here forecast by metoffice
-
@Fiona Robertson same here
Met now going for same speeds here as isha!

It has been raining heavily for about 2 hrs now and it's supposed to continue for another 3-4 hrs before turning to heavy showers so I'd expect some flooding. Breezy too but it doesn't look like it'll be as strong as Isha.
There's some very lively gusts around here. It's weird because the MO said wind wouldn't get strong until later when rain cleared
-
Already gusty here! Hope this isn't being underplayed

The UKV gust charts for this evening and Weds am, to show the shift of focus of potentially impactful winds. To ferries, road and rail users (M6, A1). The ground is wet, some trees and structures could have been weakened in ISHA.
Chance of Amber being issued elsewhere?

Not sure which thread this belongs in but just had a really heavy and squally period of very heavy rain and some hail here. Quite bizarre as I don't think anything like it was forecast.
Its also very windy here. It dropped earlier but now very gusty

Just now, Mcconnor8 said:
We share naming with them so they don't have too once it is named by the Irish Met
So does that mean Amber will be issued?

Has now been named.
Wonder if the UK met will name it.

So it seems the core of the strongest winds went into north Northumberland instead of the central belt as there was a gust of 99mph? Or was that just a freak gust?
-
No update from MO
-
So has this storm downgraded?
