  1. Don’t worry. Apparently that’s the last of the rain for the week ahead now. We have the much discussed HP coming to our rescue.
  2. Bank Holiday weekend gets an overall rating of 4/10 for me, primarily because of Saturday. Saturday was perfect for early May, beautiful day. Perfect in every way. Sunday, where I was on the South Coast, was a complete dud. Heavy drizzle pretty much all day only clearing late in the day. Cool and very misty. Awful day that ruined my trip to Weymouth. Today, unless something drastic happens, looks like becoming another dud as a whole rash of heavy downpours/rain appears to be moving in from the east. Currently cloudy with worse to come as we progress into the evening. After Saturday I thought our luck may have changed and we were in for a better than forecast BH weekend, but no, Sunday & today were/appear to be worse than forecast. No sunny spells & isolated showers here, full on washout days/half days. Looking forward to a drier working week ahead. Hopefully weekend too. Let’s hope the cloud does one though as I really don’t want more dull, grey days even if they are dry.
  3. It’s brightening up down on Portland now; The darker grey clouds disappearing over the hills of the Jurassic Coastline. Still, compared to yesterday, today was dog poop!
  4. Yesterday was beautiful. Today, the opposite, horrible. Cloudy, persistently wet and cool; Why does yesterday have to be a one day wonder?!
  5. I think it’ll happen personally and we will get a drier and brighter working week, I’m just unconvinced it has any longevity to it and is a precursor to a proper pattern change. Beggars can’t be choosers though and I’ll take whatever fine weather is on offer, just speaking as someone with kids, it’s a shame it couldn’t come over the BH weekend. Still, I’m going to attempt a day trip to Weymouth on Sunday anyway, regardless of weather. Got to get out the house at some point.
  6. Another cloudy, wet day here today. It just feels never ending. I know there’s an increasing chance of improvements and some fine days next week but that doesn’t change the fact it’s still grey, wet & depressing out the window now. It also doesn’t change the fact I yet again, have to find ways of entertaining & exercising the kids & dog in showery, damp conditions through the BH weekend. I really really hope next week turns into a lengthy period of warm, sunny weather & doesn’t get cut short or downgraded to a few days like previous promises have. Really need a break from the colour grey!
  7. Spam Fritter & chips? Cod & Chips? Battered Sausage & Chips? Cheesey Chips with a pickled egg? The suspense is killing me, what did you get Beka?
  8. Always nice to see an early start to the storm season. Let’s hope it’s the start of many future events.
  9. Also, it appears much of the West Country has a recently issued, MetO Yellow advisory for thunderstorms early hours;
  10. Drizzling here, usual grey landscape. Really hope the forecast settling down and higher SLP next week also brings clearer skies and sunnier skies. Really don’t want a dry, but overcast & cloudy period again.
  11. Whilst we wait for Spring & summer to arrive, here’s a happy thought….. It’s 4 months until meteorological Autumn starts. We haven’t exited last years yet!!
