  1. Thanks. I was looking at the radar with it spreading further through the channel into the SE Corner and just wondered if the winds started going NW it might have kicked it off.
  2. I wouldn’t want to be near the red zone, once that thaws flooding could become an issue, also with added rainfall.
  3. Don’t hold your breathe for this location. We should have had some heavy showers but nada. Further south and east will do much better. Thursday we are dry. Winds in the wrong direction. And friday is a hit and miss
  4. Well coming down more now some bigger bits mixed in with the lighter stuff wind has picked up and the sky looks grey.
  5. And we have flakes huntingdon snow shield has a small hole to let the flakes in
  6. Sad to say the beast from the east does nothing for our local. Need wind to change. Can't believe we done better with the pest from the west on the 10 of December. !
  7. I'm 20 miles south live in. Huntingdon. Easterly always misses this area. Unless wash streamer start up and wind turn. Lol
  8. Hi teits. Do you think the showers will push further south and west, with a wash streamer setting up. So far in huntingdon the snow shield is holding firm. Would be nice for your expertise in this thread.
  9. If you get it coming NE then a wash streamer will set up. As it has a larger body of water to pick up convective showers merging into long spells of snow
  10. Pmsl. All over snow. Oops I forgot no snow. Now where did I put my bikini. ?
  11. Wish they had common sense here! seems as it starts to come down heavy And settles they all jump in their cars and race who can be the first to make tracks lol. December the 10th we had heavy snow I stood at my window laughing at the young neighbour across the road jumped in his big van and struggled trying to get up the road. He abandoned his van half on the road half on the path and walk back into his house. it amazes me that they never learn. ?
  12. Yeah and we were down for heavy snow only for it to change 6 hrs before the event. That was also of an easterly flow. Ne wind is better as that gets all of eastanglia and also a a wash streamer starts up pushing them inland.
  13. Everyone talks about the great 2010 well we had nothing everywhere else got pasted and an erea in east anglia was dry as a bone. Now that’s what you call bloody ironic.
  14. Well my area sits in a basin so all the snow goes around the area and gets Peterborough to sawtry and Cambridge, so lucky if we get 1cm. I lived in March for 6 years and every year we had snow. Kids loved it.
  15. Yes rwd. Not good at all. The problem with the Mercedes is that it was powerful even when knocked out of auto into gear shift the stupid thing just sat there and wheel spun. I think that’s why the recommend snow tyres lol.
  16. Just make sure you don’t have a Mercedes, even on a straight road they spin and slide. I know that first hand as it did it to me. Probably the worst car we had had in winter conditions. Lol
  17. My close goes down hill and then bends round, every time it snows and gets icy I watch the drivers sliding all over the place. I even end up laughing when they try to get up the road and their cars are sitting there spinning or sliding backwards.
  18. I don’t mind when it sticks around for a couple of days but when it lasts and the cold hangs around longer, I get fed up with it. It’s horrible when it goes all slushy and everything is water logged.
