  1. I think cooler nights in the CET zone will stop it passing 14c, so I think sub 14c is 80-20 over 14c+. Here in Durham, we finally fell below average yesterday, and the coldest day of September so far should pull the average down 0.2 or 0.3c depending on the morning low.
  2. 12c max, currently 8c. On course to being the coolest day in September so far.
  3. I'm going for a month which is more dominated by the atlantic in the north, and more milder in the south, but a generally more unsettled, and slightly milder month.
  4. A milder night than of late, 8c the low. Currently similar to yesterday with clear skies and cloudy patches.
  5. Seems awfully cloudy and dull! Nothing compared to the beauty of snow!
  6. Clear skies at the moment, and feeling cool. Pretty windy with cloudy intervals.
  7. Just 9 days to the point when the night is longer than the day...
  8. What an absolute beaut! EC just looks class from Saturday onwards, perhaps turning a little cloudier at times in the far north, but so much warm air flowing in from the SW; and plenty of sunshine. Wouldn't mind a big last blast of warmth.
  9. Plenty of warm, comfortable temperature sunny days which are perfect to relax out in, and some cooler, fresher evenings and mornings as well. Looks lovely!
  10. I honestly feel like smashing my head into a wall and never coming back.
  11. 8 of the last 10 days have recorded single figure minima here, definitely feeling more autumnal. October to be dominated by W'lies, more wet in the north and dry in the south, before a very cold Nov dominated by N/NE winds. Ave' it!
  12. As long as we get plenty of frosts (especially around Christmas) and some good snow depths (looks more likely to be Jan-Feb), I'll be very happy indeed.
  13. It's all down to someone's feeling. You can feel bitterly cold, you don't statistics or temperatures to back that up. Try being at Whitley Bay like I was today, by the beach in them winds. I felt bloody cold, but 11c wouldn't suggest it.
  14. Loved the last few days, with the autumnal storms, and cool, fresh feeling- but want another bit of that warmth next week. Too early for being cold! As soon as we enter October and beyond- bring on that cold!
  15. 11c, clear w/ some cloud. High of 13c, pretty cool day again, very windy, with clear and cloudy spells throughout.
  16. Canada sounds pretty good! Windy as ever, probably turn the thermostat up tonight.
  17. It's an app I'm afraid; for iPad and iPhone called 'Living Earth'.
  18. I'm certainly in agreement with parts of your last paragraph in particular BFTP- unorthodox autumnal weather since 2007 has become more commonplace, whether it be cold N'lies, southerly tracking lows or warm southerlies; and in line with that, we have seen more blocked winters. Will be another interesting one to look at.
  19. Lovely evening here. Just in the gap between convective clouds and the front to the east.
  20. Nothing on today, even though it was cold, it didn't feel too cold. Certainly not with the sun in the afternoon. I turned it on yesterday evening though; strong winds and clear skies = brrrr
  21. Next 5 day summary looks to be, cooler than average, windy and wet at times. 6-10 day summary looks like it could be warmer and sunnier.
  22. The first half of September 2013 looks to be between 0.9c and 1.1c cooler than the first half of September 2012 here in Durham; but 2012 ended much cooler due to a very cool second half, coming in at 10.55c.
  23. Not necessarily Gav- the amount of gain in cover between then and November (most importantly October) is the main indicator of blocking patterns in the coming winter.
