    Going to wait until Friday evening or early saturday morning before making any decisions as to where i need to place myself or not but i'm a tad excited as usual, always am with a sniff of a storm coming. Good luck all .

    Grabbed this whilst out for strikes, not sure if this is associated with the leeds cell but did see left to right pulses sooo....nice to see some motion in the air for a change.

    Are them cloud tops in Bordeaux going to leave high cloud for us resulting in a dead brick for tomorrow or is it that unstable it doesn't matter? Just thinking back when the same thing happened and killed convection, can't remember the date but i think Paul S had a film crew with him.. anyway hope its worth putting the batteries on charge (again) .

    God its nice to feel some warmth in the air instead of cold poop, hopefully ill be traveling further than 50k from my front door this year now funds are available depending on mother nature...and we all know she can be ermmmm well...in that mood . I did venture out yesterday to catch the epic/early import! but i'm sure the Humber has some kind of NO you cannot enter if you're not spitting fire grrrrr.Just drizzle to be had but the car park seemed very popular with boy racers! vrooommmm. Always ready.

    Nice to see some anvils with hail dropping today wasn't expecting a show of such but was pleasantly surprised when i took the pooch for a walk....Nice to see the atmos showing some emotion at long last, its been an age.

    Decided to get the Haida PRO II (PROII) MC Neutral Density Filter ND0.9 ND8 SLIM 77mm that should drop me into the ballpark of F8 with 3 stops to play with.

    The filter will only be used for daytime lightning or if i feel the need to stray, also focus wouldn't be an issue .. for my needs but yer i was thinking ND4 but with the tokina being so wide would i need to go more? Iv got a D7000 mounted with a tokina 11-16 if that helps! iv done well in the past but not bang on.

    Hi, i was thinking in adding a ND4 or 8 filter onto my Tokina 11-16 for a more suitable f-stop (f8)ish during daytime lightning photography rather than hitting f32 @ 1/15s -1/8s ISO100 with out . I'm using a nero lightning trigger but i feel i may get a better lightning strike at f8 than @ f32 but thats the best i can achieve unless im sat under a moody storm or its starting to get dark...Unsure.. Any advise would be great.

    Sat here in peace and quiet, tv turned off kids in bed women slung to work and the dog watered and fed and now snoring on the couch! all i can hear is the dogs encloser been battered/destroyed by the wind dog tin bowls bouncing round the garden and every now then a screaming whistle coming from the window vent (spooky) and a constant buffeting wind come down the chimney. Bliss.
