Continuous thunder to my South West, no lightning seen and the sky is a claggy mess!!

I'm surprised there aren't any reports from my area, 40 minutes back we had an absolutely massive storm.
A squall line with extreme winds, we thought it was a tornado, constant thunder, 1" hail, incredible amounts of rain. It's currently tracking SSE towards Maidstone and beyond.
I did take a video but can't share it due to a few expletives at the awesome power of this thing.
It ended with an awesome double rainbow with the bows at roughly 10 and 30 degrees above the horizon!!!!

Thank you, its really annoying. I'm convinced a sizable portion of the anvil over the channel is being picked up as moderate/heavy rain. Any reports from Shoreham / Brighton it should be chucking it down there now according to radar.
It's been raining at Brighton for half an hour now

Not sure whats was more boring, watching the Spanish GP or looking at the radar hoping for some convective near Bournemouth......Not even seen the sun since about 5pm on Thursday....
I can't be asked to watch since Lewis Hamilton went all political.
On a plus side it looks like the Belgium storm may make landfall in Suffolk, Bournemouth seems to be within a storm shield so no banana
-
It looks like Ipswich and points north might get hit if that Belgium storm survives the channel crossing

Very odd.. rumbles of thunder here, but nothing on the detector??
Nothing unusual there, it's mostly C-G strikes that get recorded, intra cloud or sheet lightning doesn't always show

Starting to see some signs of instability coming in from the South here too, that gives me a glimmer of hope for later...
I'm seeing that too, I'm hoping that mess heading up from Brighton makes a contribution

It was only a matter of time until someone made that joke!
Should rename it Drygate

So why mention it, then?
I hardly thought about that

A pathetic shower here just now, hardly worth the mention!

Where are you atm?
His pic earlier suggested M20 around Aylesford or Maidstone, if so I'm, directly in line to the North East for later

Think those storms coming out of Paris will miss West Kent, think it'll clip Sittingbourne eastwards.
Watch out for that Frencie, once it hits our southern coast it may well explode, and it's all going to be happening with your name all
over it

Evening all, tonight looks to be developing into something juicy for Kent and Essex

The storm heading S/W from Chelmsford looks a real monster, it's split into 2 distinct cells. This could be interesting!

Can see the top of the cell NW of Chelmsford from here. It’s huge!
I can see it as well, it's a thing of beauty but camera won't show that yet
