  1. Looking at the Meto warnings is both inconclusive and telling. Amber or yellow warnings for rain right up to the Scottish border and an abrupt artificial boundary. Knowing what the pattern is for Tues-Thurs there's something they're not, yet, predicting. Maybe.
  2. GFS, ECM and UKMO all agreeing as to the development it appears..... Weds-Fri is going to be an interesting period of weather for all of Scotland. Going to get the pot noodles and tinned mushy peas in.
  3. 6.4C. Mediterranean. Let's play the XC Weather phone display game. Pink=snow What says you @101_North?
  4. 1.8°C and blowing the rain around. Triple point was always away to our northwest. Maybe I'm too old skool for the weather on the telly.
  5. Just dipping in to report an absolutely disgusting sleety/slashy/frozen rainy mix in a howling wind at 0.8°C. Nothing good will come of this.
  6. Min of -0.7C overnight so that's the twenty eighth air frost. Grey. In Peebles at the shops earlier and there is a good covering. Still a snow line at 300m here.
  7. Green and wet here - sleet at best at 9am, but the snowline looks to be 300m. Bit too far south for this one I think. Min of 0.8C earlier and now drizzle and 1.6C. Some smashing photos from areas not usually snow susceptible! Marv - it's good to share
  8. 0.2C now after maxing out at 0.3C lol. Heavy rain. Tesco just delivered and the lovely lady hasn't seen any snow falling all afternoon in Lanarks/Borders at all.
  9. Heavy rain now. Hear it on the duplex in the bathroom at -0.1C. Not a breath of wind - even eerie.
  10. -0.4C and raining now. Ice and the sprinkling of snow from Monday evening still hanging on. Some heavier ppn on its way according to the nw radar. Amber warning, but the forecast says:
  11. Just started here too. Tinkle tinkle as it falls into the trees and is a wee bit surreal. If I look east I can see the edge of the cloud Peebles way with the sun slowly coming up. Currently -1.1°C and with a low earlier of -3.0°C it's my twenty seventh air frost.
  12. Ha ha Pete - it's a 50mph chicane over that bridge on Holms Water! Get the JCB out. Max of -1.1C this afternoon, but not an ice day as at 00:01 it was +0.7C.
  13. I'm with you James in thinking we are a wee bit too west. Of course it's not over until the front arrives and the physics does its magic. I'm directly in line on a north south axis with the Forth Bridge - will be interesting to see where the dividing line falls. Reminiscent of the event 16 March 2019. Twenty sixth air frost this morning at -3.4C.
  14. I'll advertise. Only thing it's going to be good for is a windscreen coated in brittle frozen slush at 07:30.
  15. 1.1°C and snowing. Suppose I might get up from my comfy chair next to the coal fire, disturb my ginger Tom kitten Mojo and have a look if it's sticking. Oh the sacrifices...
  16. Temp here down from 6.9 to 3.4°C in half an hour. Ooooo.
  17. I don't keep a 'weather diary' but the above has been cobbled together from my garden weather station readings, observations recorded in the Scottish Thread and photies.
  18. Wednesday looks odd on the good old XC phone display Obviously appreciate it's the uppers that dun it guv, but that would have some folk rather upset!
  19. Absolutely right @Puffy MacCloud - but you forgot the added bonuses of fog shrouding high ground and the exposed base ice as slippy as cubes from the freezer to navigate. It's treacherous. Currently 3.7°C.
  20. Very interesting seeing my local area stats! Got down to -10.5°C in my garden and the twenty fifth air frost, but we are up a steep slope so whilst the flat of the garden pools cold air tumbling down the hill, it is definitely not a traditional frost hollow like at Hartree. Still not broken freezing yet today and currently -0. 3°C. The last day of powder though for sure: Fourteen consecutive days of lying snow and always of 5cm+.
  21. Look at those swans @Stormeh-bet they're furious. One more from me scrolling through photos whilst it's -10.1°C
  22. -9.8°C. That's quite a garden reading. Likely a couple of degrees lower in my local village. How low can we go?!
  23. Well, another cracker. Daytime max of -5.2C, 8.30am minimum of -6.2C. Ice day and road temperatures must be mental - on B Road to BIggar, covered in snow, car saying -15C. 4 cm extra last night. Squeak squeak: (There's a lake there somewhere!)
  24. Lovely squeaky snow - and all that ice covered so grippy again: Max of 0.7C now at 0.1C and that stuff coming down over the Cairngorms and Grampians right now is actually intensifying not dying out. Very interesting...
  25. Twenty third air frost at -6.1C. Currently -0.5C and spitting with snow. 3cm fresh deposits and because of the low temps it's stuck to everything and made it look fresh and clean. Lovely. Edit - nothing on radar but steady light snow. Opposite of others' experience! What a weirdly weak 'cold' front.
