Morning all. Well I thought that today was going to be our region’s best chance for widespread storms, but I’ve just been reading ‘Convective Weather’s’ forecast for today and there’s just a SLIGHT risk over the central and eastern areas of our region which surprised me, specifically mentioning that the western coastal areas are less likely to see storms. This is a contradiction to the Metoffice’s current weather warning which specifically mentions N Wales and NW England as the areas with the highest likelihood of storms today. Hmm.

A stunning, clear evening, albeit a bit windy around 5pm. Calm right now, and feeling a bit humid to me. I’ll have to get some snapshots of trip to the Llyn Peninsula when I go Saturday for a week. Sunday looks like it could be some quite intense bursts of rain and possibly thunderstorms across quite a bit of the UK. Saturday looks good at least!

Probably. I can see cumulus clouds building to my east, probably over the Pennines. Apparently the convergence is strongest up here around 6-9pm. -

Today could see quite a strong convergence zone lining up on the Pennines, with them drifting slowly westwards, this won’t happen until late afternoon/evening if it does so. -

2017 into 2018 has been so close yet so far for here. I hope the storm season will be better, and this is a one off ? -

Nope! Convective weather removed us from the moderate risk. Surprised metoffice haven’t cancelled the warning yet and applied one to the south coast. -

Really needs to get going up here. Met office have been blind to the storms in the south. If they get to the midlands, then Estofex had the best forecast! -

Still heavy showers going up west of the region too so I think we still have a good few hours. -

He was the most pessimistic yesterday too - haha. At least someone is getting something anyway. -

I guess if it’s still west, we still have a chance further east still, even if it’s later. ots still 19.6c here, and the humidity has gone from 50% to 61%
