Everything posted by Snow shut work

  1. Abbeymead - small flakes blowing in the wind, instant cover though after the road melt earlier.
  2. From the reports I have seen and I hope others can confirm, same time tomorrow apparently. Maybe not as long though. Anyone?
  3. You've moved northwards Lynxus? That snow is going to hook back and hang over north Glos by the looks of things?
  4. Superb Kevvo. Grab as 4 pack of Maggie (Thatchers) and proper pork scratchings.
  5. Folks in the south of our region, that dark red massive blobby stuff moving northwards, is it as good as it looks? Blow it northwards please towards Gloucester - I'll facilitate barrels upon barrels of gin your way.
  6. Rant in regional. I'm sick to death of chasing. People now posting charts for 1 March. On 5 February, charts in the MAD thread showed stupid charts for today in our region for snow. Absolute bulls%%t. I get sucked in but now realise 22 23 Feb is 'the days'. Moon on a stick.
  7. The irony about this forthcoming cold weather is that since Wednesday the snow risk has inched southwards all the time. Still as few days to go, but a WNW or anything like that and it'll get modelled to the south further.
  8. I think someone shed tears when they were informed the snow depth charts might not be wholly accurate.
  9. Well another crazy chase for cold in the MOD thread. Considering this Monday/Tuesday was meant to be 'it', folk are now back out to posting T168 charts that'll never happen. I'm sure i have seen charts posted for 19 January - really!!

  11. Still a good 1-2 inches of snow here. At 70 m ASL (east Gloucester) this'll be the 5th day this month of decent snow on the ground, as opposed to a 'dusting'. This one was far better than the one earlier in the month. The snow on the ground really does suppress the temps. Currently -0.6c so unless a massive heat wave in the night it'll be 3 day event - quite good comparing it to the crap of the last few years.
  12. Hi SW. Once 4pm hit nothing was thawing, so now we have Dickensian style crisp snow outside, nearly even!!!! A 2 minute drive to Painswick from here and its another world. Shame it'll be gone Friday!!!! Still, as I said, currently 200% better than last year and more festive than that horrid 12c stuff Xmas day.
  13. I have to say, and based on the last few years, here in Gloucester we have had more days of falling snow than last year. Probably more. For lying snow, well its still there as I type and crisping up. Gritters passing me on my way home. Generally all roads clear but as couple of inches on the paths. They'll likely stay overnight. Went up to Cranham, a good 4 inches still after a lot if dripping this afternoon. A crap winter, bol##\ks. More pre New Year for us than the whole of last winter, and many more preceding. My youngest (10) said today this is the 3rd time she remembers snow, 2 of them in the last few weeks. Apparently the south west may be due more start of the new year. More sliders from NW to SE from Northern Ireland please, and south of the M4 for goodness sake. Those folk can't take anymore.
  14. Some lucky sole in this room will be awake in the small hours, maybe they could shake the dust just after 0100hrs.....please.
  15. Really can't see how any of the precip north or south of us will impact when we're all asleep. NE winds blow it in?
  16. Mate - its been snowing since 0700hrs and I may have 1.5 to 2 inches. Its been too wet beforehand and dew points too high this morning. Its a case of what could have been here even though its fallen. No consolation I know, in the Forest if Dean about 15 miles from here, they have 12 inches plus!!!! All if and buts I guess.
  17. Quite Chris. Here in East Gloucester I'm a mere 69m ASL, but it's heavy snow that's settled, could due with the do points dropping further, do you know where we can find that out?
  18. That truly is outrageous. I hope it's true. Let's hope the 0c isotherm is over the region at sea level and not at 300m+
  19. The road in general should be banned. I forgot the word corridor. Apparently one can't be used without the other. M4 corridor. ?
  20. Colder than I expected this morning, certainly felt it waiting for the train. If I'm moaning now, hell wait for the end of the week. May have to wear more winter clothes, which incidentally don't generally get their full usage.
