    Thanks Offerman, I'd be quite happy with 5p sized flakes, would still be better than last year. Infact, the 3 frosts and 2 hail showers of the past few weeks have been better than last year. How sad is that?

    Hi Offerman Raining at the moment on the edge of Dartmoor but have had a couple of beefy hail showers. A bit blustery!

    Wind picking up, first heavy rain drops but more interestingly, first rumbles of thunder in the distance :0)

    A pity this is a rubbish photo, took it with my phone through the car windscreen but I saw the most awesome rainbow today, I've never seen one so low in the sky. Been an interesting weather day.

    Well after a quick drive to the top of the moor, I can confirm that Princetown had roughly 1" of snow this morning. It was sleeting heavily whilst there, so I'm guessing it'll disappear soon, although it was sleet just now down here at lower levels, so you never know!!

    Very heavy sleet with snow mixed in. Yes festivalking Princetown must be the place to be this evening. Where's the beast when you need him?

    Have seen some cars coming off the moor with a sprinkling of snow on them

    I'm just north of Plymouth on the edge of Dartmoor, it's blowing a hoolie. Rains have eased a bit but wind is definitely worse than Wednesday in my neck of the woods.

    Wow gusts really starting to pick up now although rain has cleared for the moment. Can't imagine what it'll be like in a couple of hours.

    Having a bit of a lull here at the moment, drizzle and light winds but I guess that'll change soon. Give a thought to all those lovely postmen out there who are battling the elements to ensure your sacks full of Valentines cards reach you safely.

    Thanks AWD, guess I'd better go and brave it now then. I hate the rain with a passion but love the wind, shame they've come hand in hand this winter.

    Rain getting heavier here, gusts are really starting to pick up now. Does anybody know when the most intense period of wind is going to be today in South Devon and Dartmoor? Have a few things I've to sort, do I do it earlier or later? Thanks guys, take care.

    Just had a nice sleet/snow shower here. Stopped now but has left a nice white layer.

    Things have improved dramatically here in the last 15 minutes. Winds have eased a bit and the sun is poking through the cloud.

    Very heavy rain and sleet here, lashing against the window. Some pretty strong gusts. Luckily I don't have to go out today but stay safe those who do.

    Heavy rain and strong gusts here. This is just disastrous for many people, however on the plus side my daughters Cross Country at Princetown just might get cancelled but I guess that's only a plus for me!!! Stay in bed folks, it's safer.

    Some beautiful sunshine here today , just a few blustery showers. Made a nice change. The rest of the week is looking a bit scary. There's some talk on the MAD thread about a slight downgrade but looking at the wind speeds, I guess it's not for the far SW !!!!!

    Still pretty breezy here but the rain has stopped for now. A small breather, don't suppose it will last long.

    Good grief what a night!! Very strong, almost continuous gusts here this morning, and as for the rain, let's not go there. This is a severe storm, as predicted. Goodness knows what's blowing around out there. Be careful if you have to go out, if you have a choice stay at home.
