Looks like the wraparound is the best chance here now, but not very hopeful any more.......
That's amazing. I've just driven home from West Ipswich and it's absolutely hossing it down - although I have just looked out of the window and it's not now but what a difference a couple of miles makes!

Hello fellow Ipswicher!, well techichnally I'm just on the outskirts but hey Ipswich will do!
Evening to you both (and Chris) - Metcheck have us down for around 18cm Monday and a further 9cm Tuesday (if 1mm precip does really equate to 1cm snow) Snow toys at the ready but I'm not expecting that much!

It's not only snow, it's SNOW!! I'm with you there! It's a disruption to the monotany of every day life - I think that's why I love it so much. That, and it sparkles and brightens up the 'dullness' of winter and makes everything look clean AND I can play in it - even though I'm in my thirties. There are so many reasons to love snow....

Raining and dull now....
....but on the plus side our snow boards arrived today - now we await the proper stuff....

The band now seems to be pivoting more (as the BBC forecast showed)....this could last a couple of hours for the East. Promising as I have settling snow (good covering on everything and 0.1C)......might get a half decent covering! The longer it hold around the more chance those of us in the East will have!
Unfortunately I don't know what the temp out there is (can anyone recommend a good/cheap weather station that will give me temp/dewpoint and highest and lowest temp?) but it is now starting to settling and the flakes are huge.
I'm going out.....

Was starting to watch the rain and sleet with dispair but now I'm one happy bunny - even though it's not settling yet. Snow has this power over me.

Very very small ice crystals falling here and have given a new covering of white to the car roof... wonder what scene will greet me tomorrow? Probably nothing more!

Gary Gritter just gone past here - very early! No idea what the temps are like out there.
All snow melted away but I can live with that after the nice scene that greeted me this morning.

But can you smell the difference between dog poo and Marmite? I'm not sure that I can...They both smell like s**t to me!
I'd like to think so - or else I've been spreading the wrong thing on my toast in the morning! :-)

You know it's cold when you're out for a walk with the dog, she goes to the 'toilet' and on picking it up you think - ooh that's nice and warm. That's wrong isnt it.

I know it is soley based on the gfs 06z run but this forecast for faversham in kent i wouldnt say no to.....
Same for Ipswich. I know I shouldn't get excited, after all I've been on snow watch for a few years and we all know what happens, but I can't help it - just a bit...

Now raining with everything that fell last night all but gone. What was left from last weekend will now follow. A bit sad, but putting my Pollyanna hat on - at least we had 7 days of lying snow to play in which isn't bad for these parts.

Just opened the blind and most of the green that was showing yesterday has been covered again. Not much - under a cm. V, nice surprise though.
