  1. A splendid day yesterday. Smashed my 2024 high by almost three degrees (21.9 °C) and there was a good amount of sunshine right through the day. Not clear blue skies, but not just the odd glimpse of sunshine either. Light winds, pleasant outdoors, not quite hay fever season for me yet! More of this today would be grand.
  2. Yep, it's been pretty good overall. Yesterday was my warmest day of 2024 so far at 19.0 °C, and we were only 0.2 degrees short of that today. A decent amount of sunshine, too. Might hit 20 °C for the first time later this week, too. Not much sun in the forecast, which is a shame, but still better than hours of cold rain.
  3. Not a bad day today. Managed to sit outside with a drink (coffee!) at lunchtime, which hasn't happened often this year. Shame the forecast from tomorrow on has been downgraded (surprise, surprise...) from the largely dry and bright weather we were originally predicted to get. Not *awful* I guess, but hardly inspiring for May.
  4. I notice the forecast for early-mid next week is slowly but surely increasing the number of showers. From dry, to mainly dry, to scattered showers... What's the betting that by Monday it will be just a slightly warmer version of today?
  5. Utterly miserable this lunchtime. Persistent rain and 9 °C. Might as well be January.
  6. Catbrainz I'd probably nudge it up to 5/10, but maybe that's just down to my relief at finally having some time (eg this weekend just gone) without grey wet gloom being the default! It's by no means been a classic April, but I don't have a huge problem with a mixed month at this time of year. That said, I would like a properly dry, sunny month now - ideally warm too, but dry and sunny are more important to me. We've waited far too long.
  7. A nice St George's Day here. (Not really keen on it being a bank holiday, as our holidays are too concentrated in spring as it is.) More sunshine than I was expecting - it's sunny right now - and no rain. Not very warm (max 12.3 °C) but I can forgive a lot when it's sunny! A marked improvement on the dross of yesterday, certainly.
  8. JakeWorces Yep, much the same a few miles away in Bewdley. This weekend has been significantly better than the forecast, which is a strange and unnerving experience!
  9. Yesterday was a great day, actually better than the forecast. I'd been expecting a sunny morning (tick) but then increasing cloud and gloom in the afternoon. Instead the sun was still shining, albeit not all the time, in the early evening. And on a Saturday, too!
  10. A gloomy and grey start here with a few light showers. Improving now though with sunshine and scattered clouds. This is reasonable spring fare.
  11. First air frost in a while last night (-1.4 °C) and a decent, chilly, bright start to the day. Max 13.2 °C. Deteriorated later on, though, with gloomy overcast conditions and a little light rain. Wind got up, too.
  12. After a pretty nice day, it's now raining! Only a couple of showers on the radar, but one of them is right over me. Irritating.
  13. Unsurprisingly a new 2024 high for me at 18.7 °C. Lovely when the sun was out, though a bit uninspiring when the murk returned later on.
  14. This thread has been getting quite serious and scientific of late given it's the moaning (etc) thread, so let me drag the level down again for a moment by saying this late afternoon and evening feels like it's undone a lot of the (relatively) good conditions of the last week. I know they weren't very good everywhere, but we missed most of the daytime rain... until today. I was surprised and a little bit disconcerted how quickly my mood fell again with a thought of "Oh no, not more of this gunk!"
