  1. really felt like spring today. 1st time I felt the warmth of the sun. Felt goo ood!
  2. same here. Although i think I heard something against the window so possibly more hail than snow.
  3. So 4 below average months on the bounce. I wonder how unusual that is
  4. Think I mention this every year so apologies if i'm repeating myself. I seem to remember Feb half term to be quite productive for snow back in the day (80's), anybody else have similar memories?. So we have plenty of time left. Also, there is zero sign of the Atlantic kicking in (something this winter will be remembered for, really very unusual) so it really does give us a great chance going forward.
  5. Proper slippery out so be careful! Already seen 1 car in a hedge. Almost went A over T in the works car park too
  6. beat me to it. Very heavy shower. Very blustery
  7. Ye. Cold rain. The story of the last 4 years.
  8. Latest BBC forecast looks quite promising for this evening and tonight. Depends how much can get over the Beacons
  9. That's true. Still gives us some hope. Made me laugh though. I was picturing Derick with his ruler measuring a drift against a curb. Not quite the same as 1982 with 12-15ft drifts. . hahahaha
  10. I wonder what depth of drifts we'll get with 0-1cm snow depths! 3cm slush drift? LOL
  11. For here the temperature just too high when the bulk of the precip comes in. Warm sector pushing too far North. Best I can hope for are a few snow showers this evening when the weather front pushes east
  12. I love Del but isn't he just telling us what the auto updated forecasts are showing. Just in case we don't know what the symbols mean
  13. BBC now trending colder temps for Thursday. From 5c to 3c midday onwards. Possibilities increasing These situations come down to the here and now
  14. Update Issued at: 12:05 on Tue 10 Jan 2017 Valid from: 00:05 on Thu 12 Jan 2017 Valid to: 23:55 on Thu 12 Jan 2017 Rain moving eastwards across the south of the UK on Thursday may turn to snow in places. Whilst this is unlikely, there is a small chance of snow settling with disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities. Associated heavy rain and strong winds may prove additional hazards. If the area of heavy rain moves further north, this would pull cold air into the system and bring snow to parts of southern England and south Wales. At the same time heavy rain will likely persist in some areas along with the potential for some locally strong winds. Local Authorities affected and associated warning levels Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Swansea, Torfaen, Vale of Glamorgan http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1484179200&regionName=wl
  15. I see Mr Murr has thrown is toys out of the pram in the model thread. Usually happens once during the winter. I remember Tamara bearing the brunt last year. cant believe people get their knickers in such a twist.
  16. Yes. That's it. I regularly drive through that area. Stunning. Lovely coating of hoar frost. Got me feeling proper festive.
  17. What a cracking morning. Walked the dogs around 7am, just before the sun popped up. Very hard frost. The colour of the sky was beautiful My car recorded -7 between Pontypool & Usk. Lowest I can remember since 2010. The scenery was stunning driving through Monmouth towards the M5.
  18. very heavy rain overnight. Mynydd Maen has a very light dusting of something at around 400m asl.
  19. West based NAO despair yesterday to FI delight today. Got to love the winter model discussions. The more level headed contributors are definitely hinting at a very interesting December though.
  20. Lovely frosty morning here. Looks like we'll have to suffer a little unsettled spell before something more interesting which would be great timing for the start of winter.
  21. what a stunning day! Nice and cold for bon fire night. Just how I remember them as a kid in the 80's. Wrapped up with scarf and gloves. This is one of the best autumns I can remember. The trees look fantastic. hoping, as always, for a proper winter to follow.
