Spectacularly bad timing for the recycling bin collection around us - every bin in the street on its side, contents whirling everywhere - volleys of cans rattling down the street. I can't help wondering if our neighbours hadn't quite heard the forecast when they dutifully put their blue bins out before going to bed. I'm feeling smug because I prevented my OH putting ours out, but makes not much difference since we've got all of the neighbours' festive wrapping paper plastered around the axles of our cars now anyway... . Feeling a bit sorry for the bin-men tomorrow, but at least everyone's getting an extra wet Christmas card delivery to cheer up depressing January ;-)...

BFT - outside Howgate. People were stuck near the old hospital upwards of thirty minutes. Including a gritter :-)

I'm delurking to warn that Falkirk town centre is totally at a standstill and has been for nearly an hour. Three inches of compacted snow / slush and a layer of water have made the roads - literally - like skating rinks. Several accidents, and no-one getting up towards the Braes at all, so far as I can tell. OK, so we've not had any snow to speak of the last two weeks, but the Bairns know how to make the most of a moderate snowfall - and not in a good way!
