  1. is anybody out there?!!!!

Lovely sunny day here today, not missing the rain at all, so terrible what has happened in Europe...

I hear there could be an easterly approaching, so come on one last ramp at all??

    anyone???????.......................

I am here lol,i think that what there saying over on the mod thread is that the chances of an Easterly has near enough gone now,so maybe thats why there is nobody around today, its a lovely day here in Brighton ,clear blue skys and lovely in the sunshine.drinks.gif

  2. Hi Yamkin,

I found your posts very interesting and especially the one in red above, it seems to me that it pays just to read on here sometimes and not comment, from what flack you have had over the little comment on the Thames Barrier. After all it seemed you were only relaying information that you thought would be of interest to us.good.gif

Yamkin is great and i love reading his views too,and he does get some stick on here and its wrong,as it is only his opinion and a lot of people like his ideas and reading them.drinks.gif

  3. I know, I think we will all (well maybe not all) be glad of some peace and quiet after all the rain this last week and then the wind and rain again tomorrow!

Some snow potential maybe late next week onwards which could be something to look forward to!drinks.gif

Snow would be lovely one last dumping ,but no more Rain and wind lol ,i am off to bed so thanks for your help .drinks.gif

  4. You've got an inch predicted tomorrow slightly more on higher ground and possibly slightly more in one or two spots. More likely than not you'll get less than that in 24 hour period. No monsoons forecast yes you may get a little flooding but spare a thought about people in France or northern Spain.

On a side note I've just replayed XC weather pressure and it has the low moving NW. ?????

I think that most people on here are thinking of people in France and Northern Spain, but human nature also makes you worry about yourself and neighbours around you so it is natural for people to be worried about there own area, correct me if i am wrong?

  5. Sorry to hear that, hope she's ok. Try not to worry too much, my cousin works in our local hospital and she says that very good contingency/emergency plans are always put in place for possible severe events. They sent a 4x4 to take her to work in all the snow we had!

Thanks Slb for the reassurance, she is just so confused and very ill that it does worry me how she may react to a storm she hates storms and i feel so useless, but hopefully it wont be too bad and she may not know its happening anywaydrinks.gif

  6. I know this is the cold spell discussion thread, but was hoping one of you guys or girls with a bit more expertise could give me an update on what we can expect from the low forecast for tomorrow?

My partner has to drive from Essex to Oxfordshire at some point tomorrow. He's trying to decide what would be the best time to do this?

I know you can't be exact but a general idea would be good.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Anita,i cant help you on this one but there is a sunday lows thread open and someone there may be able to answer your question,i read somewhere that it was going to hit the southeast at lunch time but i might be wrong.drinks.gif

  7. Yes, but GFS has consistently showed it weeker then other models. GEM and NOGAPS showing it much stronger with ECM and ukmo in the middle. Still very much one to watch

Hi thegreat316,what do you think about this naughty Low thats due on sunday,do you feel it will cause damage,or is it not going to be as bad as that? drinks.gif

  8. Sorry Wee, just kidding.

the Meto forecast is predicting gusts of around 30 MPH over sunday day and night with heavy rain all day too. sunday daytime you are going to have an easterly and that veers northerly overnight. not sure how those directions affect you down there unknw.gifsmile.gif

Big difference between your 30mph winds and Yamkins 70 to 80 mph?????? i would like to see no wind but if any would prefer the 30mph ones.Someone on the mod thread said that could compare this low to oct 87,if so that is frightening as i remember that well and there was a lot of damage,i hope this all buggers off and we get cold and bright weather.drinks.gif

At the moment models are suggesting on Sunday there will be heavy rain and strong winds which could gust to 70 - 80 mph. There is also a possibility of the low pulling in a colder NE feed later on which could give us a wintry mix.

MetO will most probably issue Advisory Warnings for the S/SE tomorrow regarding this worrying low. This all could amount to nothing by Sunday, but is still on course for Sunday at the moment.

Thanks for the replys Yamkin and snowman,i really hope its not too bad ,just want brighter colder days now .drinks.gif
