Has been a very interesting day here in Bwlchgwyn. Max temp +0.4. Heavy snow/hail showers with gusty winds. Depth at the moment around 9cms but some drifts now up to 20 cms.
Current temp exactly zero so expecting a lot more in the next few hours.

Temp -0.3 Dew Point -1.2 mod snow, depth 4cms.

Moderate snow now. Temp 1.3 Dew Point -0.2 snow just starting to settle.

Temp here has dropped from a high of 4.1 at 11.30 to 2.4. Dew point now 0.6. Precipitation started of as straight rain but with evaporative cooling there has been a notable change to rain and snow with the emphasis on more snow in the mixture as time goes by.
Judging by the radar returns we are in the light ppn zone at the moment.
Will try and keep posting throughout but more especially after 1700.

UKMO-GM and EC EPS charts still have snow potential even next Weds for N Midlands northwards and Ops Centre continue to talk of some enhanced wintry ppn likelihood in frontal zones by end of their 10-15d analysis. For the past 3 days now, they have retained very similar caveats in their longer MRF briefings. To quote them: " Meanwhile, later in the forecast period the risk of frontal progressions into the UK being associated with some transient sleet/snow increases....".
Thanks Ian. Very interesting. Seems like some cold undercut from the East or South East still a distinct possibility. Ties in very well with Matt Hugo's latest post.

Well done. Probably last place I would have looked.
