  1. I wonder whether we might just get cold and dry though (okay this is a wintry scenario, but perhaps not the one that most here would prefer) for the most part, from mid next week, with the serious cold reserved for eastern Europe, in the 10/11 day outlook? I'd say it was a pretty high chance. Who then knows how the situation would develop afterwards?

It'll be an interesting period for model watching for sure, to see how the situation develops (particularly with the location of the high pressure) and undoubtedly there will be lots of highs and lows in the Model Discussion Thread! laugh.png

I'll take cold and dry over mild and wet - I'm pretty pleased with the amount of snow I've had this winter so if that's it so be it, we might not have come close to the accumulations of 2010 but I've certainly seen more hours of falling snow which has been beautiful to watch. I've had hoar frosts, powder snow and some decent thick stuff which has given me plenty of different photo opportunities.

I'd love to think we could have one more bite of the cherry and winter go out with a bang but if we're only going to get transient snow and it's a slushy mess I'll be looking for signs of spring and some decent walking weather with dry ground conditions !

  2. Hi all

    Just a question

How can I Quote a post from a previous thread

    Thanks good.gif

If the thread is locked you won't be able to directly quote the post but you can copy and paste the text and enclose it in quote brackets - just make sure you say who said it and when or I think you can link back to the previous thread by copying the link address in the top right hand corner which you should see if you right click the post number #

(well I can do this so I assume you all can too and it's not a moderation thing ?)

    Hope this helps good.gif

  3. I agree with that woman in the bus it's a lot colder today brrrrr . Netweather 72% chance of snow today ... Nothing mentioned on met office tho ? I'm in whitstable

I don't think you will see much looking at this...

    http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=snowforecast;sess=

Can you pop your location in your profile please - it would be handy if you do have any snow fall to report if we know where you are.

(You can do this by clicking on your profile (top right hand corner), then clicking "edit profile". Add your location and save)

    - thanks good.gif

  4. I wonder if we will ever see a day where we get heavy, non marginal snowfall, widespread across the midlands, leading to 20cm+ accumalations, with dry ground, and no rain prior too or after the event.

I know some across the midlands have seen it but certainly not here.

Who knows....but you can have a new thread in a few minutes....maybe it will be lucky for you !

    New thread coming!

Please finish off any posts or hold off posting charts etc and I'll link new one shortly..

    Please continue here..

    locking this one now good.gif

Hope you've got your thermals on then Coast it's much colder up here than on the sunny south coast....and there is still a bit of the white stuff hanging around for you to see but yesterday would have been much better !

Have a good day everyone angel.gif

  6. Please use this thread for your discussions about the current weather or what is being forecast for the next few days in the South East and East Anglia...

    post-10773-0-08794000-1360605803_thumb.j

....please remember these regional threads were set up to talk about local conditions and your thoughts on how things are panning out so can we keep things light and topical and avoid any personal remarks - Thanks good.gif

    Link to the previous one….

  7. Been up to dunstable for some fun & got stuck right up on the top- had to get pulled out the car park by a range rover-

It's was bad at the top wasn't it, I reckon the drifts were nearly two feet in places....

    post-10773-0-05988600-1360595606_thumb.j

...there were a few people getting stuck when I was up there, wonder if one of them was you !

Had a bit of a thaw here (it seems to have gone from the bottom upwards if that makes sense)but just took a measurement on the garden table and I've still got a good 6cm.....
