  1. n'er cast a clout till May is out….. The Common Hawthorn, also known as May Blossom, flowers in late April or early May. In other words, the old saying means don't take your warm clothes off until the May blossom is out!
  2. Another lovely day here and super sunset this evening - I’ve been busy launching my weather balloon today, hopefully it won’t get shot down
  3. Computer model ensemble suites show a general downward trend in temperatures after the first week of February. A few operational runs have shown more of a cold easterly influence developing. Not much to suggest a “beast from the east” apart from this mornings GFS model output for 10 days time ………but it probably won’t happen!
  4. @Tom Quintavalle your "predictive subtitling" reminds me of why men are useless at taking messages ….
  5. It reached 15 degrees in Scotland this afternoon, very topsy turvy, we seem to be holding on to the cold much longer down here, the brook has even frozen over now ..
  6. Another very cold and frosty night here in MK last night, beautiful blue sky & sunshine this morning
  7. I’ve watched the 1963 one…. very interesting viewing, I wasn’t born so I’ve only ever seen the family photos & heard stores about it - I arrived as a reminder of what my parents obviously got up to to keep warm
  8. -6.7 degrees overnight here in Milton Keynes, a lovely frosty Monday morning, no fog just sunshine and clear blue sky
  9. Looks like this is going to be the only way to build a snowman for now anyway, at this rate it will be an Easter snow bunny! But at least it’s not raining, the blue sky & sunshine was lively again today.
  10. Brrrrr well the cold has arrived and it seems not it so much of a hurry to leave - great to have some dry weather and enjoy blue sky & sunshine - I did struggle to open the car doors this morning and the frost was very thick on the windscreen so took a while to get out but roads well gritted thankfully
  11. Still waiting for my 4 flakes not looking too hopeful for today ….well done to those who even got to see some falling from the sky, I’d take that
  12. Whatever the PPN is when it lands the system is now arriving from the west and seems much further north atm than the models predicted
