  1. Thank goodness all the showers are dying out before reaching here this morning. It’s meaning a bright day (so far) with decaying anvils passing overhead.
  2. My boy just emptied 41mm out of my gauge which is from early yesterday onwards! February up to 167.5mm ! That’s almost 10x as much as last February !
  3. Mother Nature absolutely nailed it! My postcode marker is pretty much under the heaviest 8.20 radar colour! School run time for us is 8.15-8.35!! Sun’s out now !!
  4. Just when you think it can’t get any worse then you see this primed to turn up at school run time!!!!!!
  5. Lol it’s looking dry until around 05.00! I expect the dry spell will include a clearer sky to allow a moonlit period after not even a hint of brightness all day! Then dull and wet through daylight tomorrow!
  6. Thankfully unlike other places there was no drizzle this morning. Cloud has broken since mid morning with hazy sunshine since. Outdoor work done happily between 9-12 and everyone’s bedding drying on the line/airers now. Looks like being the first dry day since last Monday. Happy Andy today!
  7. Drumroll please! It’s been dry for about 24 hours and yep the next rain is due spot on time for this mornings school run!!
  8. offerman I can’t send you the video because I saw it on my wife’s WhatsApp from one of her colleagues. She lives in a flat near the river at the Asda end of Frome. The river was absolutely raging this morning!
  9. offerman my manual rain gauge (holds 50mm) is in a plant pot in the middle of the garden and I can see it’s nearly full!
  10. We had hardly any sun yesterday. It’s misty and invizdriz this morning. But hey the sky was crystal clear from around 18.00-at least midnight!!!!!!
  11. There must be some flooding in the strip from around Exeter and NE to around Marlborough. Those areas have had several heavy bursts run along the same line in the last 4/5 hours and another now. Meanwhile just a few miles to the East it’s been showery but nothing more than a few mm.
  12. Having driven to and from Trowbridge this morning (as well as doing a few hours work) the sky is certainly fascinating.
  13. For a number of years now (and for a number of reasons) I do my outdoor work differently time wise in school holidays than during term time. This kind of forecast simply does not happen on the first day of such a situation! Looking forward to it!
  14. TammasinWhiskers it’s a very slow moving slack LOW pressure. The showers are moving anticlockwise round the LOW, like they’re in a spin cycle.
