Surprisingly decent day with hazy sunny spells after rain cleared by 08.00! Breezy and fresh feeling which is a little odd on a SSE’ly.
Front currently out West, tomorrow it apparently shifts East and invigorates by breakfast time. Can it be further East than predicted to leave a similar day to this!?
-
Probably the sunniest consecutive days since mid January! And at the weekend too!

pinball wizard nope I learnt this a few years ago. Admittedly it’s hard with some clothing materials but thin items and towels dry well given no rain - that’s a big ask of course !

Thank you @mike5900 @*Stormforce~beka* @Dorsetbred it most certainly looks like a pheasant!

3 hours after it stopped raining the sun has finally broken through! I’m sure fronts used to clear quicker. Whichever direction they come from the residual cloud seems to take so long to clear!
Anyone got any idea what bird this feather is from please? My boy found it on the way to school this morning. I have searched various websites but haven’t found a definitive answer.

Dorsetbred I really hope tomorrow’s front doesn’t drag its heels and that we get a sunny afternoon!
Beautiful evening for my boy’s football training. Bout time!

Well one dry day it was! Drizzling this morning which is against all forecasts, apps and hopes!
Sigh!

SunnyG I learnt a few years ago that from March-October when the Met Office app shows cloud it will generally be pleasant hazy sun through mid/high level cloud.
@Summer8906 was it you who referred recently to the humidity as opposed to fresh Spring air? Today almost feels oppressive in the still, hazy conditions. Possibly something to do with all the moisture from all the rain! Sorry if it wasn’t you.
-
Yes very pleasant albeit cloudy again now. It doesn’t ‘feel’ like March though. In fact there’s almost an oppressiveness to the air. Still and warm and hazy like a summer afternoon.
-
78/79 you know what it’ll do, it’ll make the first evening of light until gone 7.30 be dull and wet! And ensure the colder nights with that set up push into the early morning a little further!

There’s no fog just Stratocumulus and occasional hazy sun.

Sorry if I seemed annoyed. It’s simply that we cannot even achieve a dry day! Fine, pleasant afternoon now though.
Looking at the radar from all morning until now perhaps there’s a weak front/trough moving slowly East. Pretty standard really !

Err why is it raining and developing heavier overhead!?
-
The second weekend in a row with most of the rain overnight. Very fortunate timing! And a very pleasant afternoon outside.

*Waders required to hang bedding on the line!
*Slight exaggeration but it’s back to square one!

A proper April showers day today with plenty of warm feeling sunshine in between.

Alderc 2.0 I just had to wear sunglasses while hanging towels on the line. Oh the joy !

Not sure how but there was an hour (whooppee!) with decent sunshine mid morning.
Shame it’s been sandwiched by showers, drizzle, gloom and wind!
-
*Stormforce~beka* Hope you’re ok, not bruised etc!
Steady on here, got a few sunny spells, still invizdriz in the air on and off though.

Any idea when there might actually be an even partly cloudy morning? Let alone a clear one!
Feasibly it could be light enough by 06.30 to have no lights on indoors, but no chance with it being dull every morning!
Would gladly swap 11c and gloom for 0c and frost/sunshine!

jtay I’m not so sure. It’s forming way further West than modelled/forecast last night . Or it’s a different front!
