This is just as exciting as watching the snow dig into my area on the radar back in March.
In many ways the set up is similar to the convective snow shower days we had in late February and mid March, except it's 20c+ warmer lol.

Sat in the garden, boy playing madly as only toddlers do, admiring TCu in all directions. Not sure when we last had a convective day!?

5 days out of 6 with almost maximum sunshine, although official recordings may have been Cirrus affected.

You can bet your bottom dollar that an unsettled spell will turn up from 29th May to June 1st when I have a brief work period during half term! If it does turn bad then that will follow 7 wet/damp mornings out of 9 in the Easter break!
The vast majority of the 6 school weeks have and will be fine (next week won't be anything more than scattered showers/storms) although of course that included a wet Wednesday which obviously landed on my fortnightly workday!
I am only too aware that we probably do need some rain and will do even more with another dry warm week!

Indeed. In fact with lightbulb sun and out of the wind, it's almost humid feeling. Had a some very light rain for a time earlier.
Hey that's my saying ! (c)

Are these frequent cool/cold mornings an ongoing effect of the colder winter? Perhaps due to sea temperatures being lower?
-
There is a perfect 360 degree halo around the sun in thin Cirrus, shame I can't get a decent picture!
It's a very British summer sky with pale blue, thickening Cirrus and scattered small Cumulus.
18.4c at present .

That moment when you get the parasols out to create a shaded area on the lawn and the cloud / wind turn up 5 minutes later!

Absolutely blissful to be sat outside drinking wine and watching the stars appear with it still 20c at nearly 21.30 .

Humidity up today for sure. Mainly cloudy but warmer than yesterday.
It's the first cloudy day since (probably) October that has felt warm!

THe country file forecast seemed to indicate that the rain might not reach as far west as was previously thought.
I might be misinterpreting him but Chris Fawkes seemed very uneasy with the graphics he was presenting.
He is a very good, knowledgable forecaster and said he thought the rain would be further East than shown for tomorrow. Then for Friday snow seemed to be shown for Scotland which he said wouldn't happen (or words to that effect) .
Since they changed provider a few months ago the precipitation graphics on BBC forecasts have been way out numerous times at close range.

Washing on the line for 10 hours in nearly May and it is not dry after a dry day! Give me strength!!

Finding it hard to believe that this time last week it was very warm and sunny ahead of a crazy thundery evening/night!

A showery morning including rainbows on 4 occasions turned into a mostly sunny afternoon with a shower streamer visible to the South. Max of 14.9c and we made the most of it ahead of tomorrow!

Sunshine and showers in Westbury. Showers seem to be developing quite quickly from the Bristol Channel/Mendips and moving ESE.
-
Dry here save for the odd spit in the strong Westerly wind and extensively overcast.
There really are some strange people around. I took my boy to watch a few trains at the station and a couple were stood next to a bench with their bags on the bench. I asked if they could move the bags so we could sit down and you'd think I'd asked them for a £grand the way they replied!!

Apart from that unexpected drizzly, showery start it's turned into an increasingly sunny day, now mostly clear with small Cumulus and some Altocumulus. Quite breezy and 15.6c the maximum.
-
Thoughts of the expected dry, bright day over already with light/drizzly rain in the last hour and radar showing similar covering a wide area of East Somerset and West Wiltshire!

I love ConvectiveWeather but whilst the forecast was accurate for many areas, they moved the MDT zone westwards after we had received all our lightning across Bristol, Bath into Wiltshire?
Bit like the Met Office as people mentioned, issuing a yellow warning for rain when people already received all their rain and wasn’t getting anymore aha!
That isn't strictly true because yes those revised warnings were too late for the early evening storms but some of those same areas then had further severe, quickly developing conditions after midnight.

The morning after the evening/night before is serene with sunshine, AltCas and warming quite quickly at 14.2c .
I wonder if the cold front will spark into life as it moves through early afternoon.
Goodness me what an evening/night that was!!

Do you think Thursdays front/trough could be thundery Knocker?
Tv forecasts and various phone apps (including Met Office) showing an occlusion and light rain.
