  1. Meto and BBC forecasts going with widespread snowfall in our region later tonight into Tuesday morning and yet so much doubt on this forum that it will not materialise! Snow north of midlands etc..... Could a member please explain why TV and meto say snow for me tonight and this forum does not? I thought the ssE'y air flow was going to bring in lower dew points off France later today?
  2. Well the latest beeb forecast still seems pretty confident of widespread snowfall starting early hours of tomorrow. Anywhere from SE England up to NE could see up to 10cm! If the milder air is coming in let's at least go out with a bang :-)
  3. Lack of Rain?? Oh dear god.... Only the UK would make a song and dance over a few weeks of dry weather. Purlease. We are an island lashed by the atlantic, im sure we will cope.
  4. HORRIBLE... May bank Holiday and a chart like that... Could not think of anything worse. Its actually boring, anyone who thinks that wintry precip will fall south of Scotland is living in dream land as the may sun is just too strong. Maybe some hail in the heavier showers Leave the wishing and looking for snow until next winter please. In sunny breaks it will actually feel quite pleasant, even if the flow is from the North. Especially in sheltered southern areas. So not all bad.
  5. Variety? No thanks..... I know everyone has there own take on what weather they want to see and I appreciate that everyone is different. The last thing I would want to see is a cold northerly break out now... What is the point? It would only bring snow to hills and mountains. We have had 6 months of cold grey cloudy dark dreary days..... You say you are looking forward to a grey cloudy easterly... Wow... You obviously dont get affected by the SAD effect then.... BRING ON THE WARM SUNNY DAYS.......Thats what Im looking forward to. The models are showing an increasingly cloudy set up and cloud piling in from Sunday, things could still be bright for my area tomorrow but id expect it to be cloudy Sunday and feeling cooler. Cant wait till those plumes are showing on the models. Not too long now hopefully
  6. Absolutely 'Saint' This morning was quite incredible, you're right, it was blizzard like, the snow was falling thick and fast. I was very impressed it has to be said. I have always thought that the beeb national forecasts are very poor with their graphics in whichever season. Whether it be too much ppn, not enough ppn, too much sunny graphics, not enough sunny graphics. etc Today just goes to prove that, last night national forecast had Rain graphics all over our region, south of Bedford! Look what happened: A WHITE out on the way to work this morning.
  7. Ay??? Didnt you guys up there get hammered with snow yesterday? All we had here was rain. Snow coming down thick and fast here... 1.5 inches so far........... At least it makes a Monday morning more bearable anyway
  8. HEAVY SNOW since 7am. Lighter now but still moderate. I cant see this changing to rain somehow. Likely to stay as SNOW until it clears off
  9. unfortunately yes! Rain graphics covering, herts, beds and bucks! No mention of snow either, he said " heavy rain" counties north of MK look best to see snow according to beeb
  10. Latest beeb forecast on news24 snow looking good for central/ north midlands and Cambs! Anywhere south of that, sleety stuff at best!
  11. Tv forecasts only suggesting snow for midlands tomorrow! Rain graphics over Herts, Beds and Bucks
  12. Soaking rain here!! Good news for people to the North of our region! Looks like next week will be the same starting with tomorrow! Next week looks set to bring Snow to everyone north of Bedford I should imagine. Everyone South and South East of here = no chance! From a selfish view! Roll on Spring - no point in feeling freezing knocking up my heating bill just to have pouring rain!
  13. Just got a phone call from my dad, he is working up in the Chilterns today. Been Pouring with RAIN. A friend of mine lives near bath in Somerset and yet its been snowing heavily there
  14. My Dewpoint was the same when the PPN hit around a hour ago with a temp of 1C and it fell as RAIN. Dewpoint now 0.9 and temp is 2.5C. The band of PPN has much warmer air under it
  15. Starting to Rain here. Local radio going for 6cm of snow here tomorrow. Does anyone think this could happen?
