What radio 4 ? Ah well at least I will get some good sleep during the night now, so much for the icy snowy conditions continuing are you sure it was not for later in the week temps were predicted to rise slightly?
Well they did say over the next few days and into next week. As was just posted, still plenty of Winter to come.

The band is getting larger enough to cover EA and the SE, been tracking the snow from Germany joining the Holland snow now and swinging into this band, some thunder snow over Germany aswell. Great watching this even if I dont get any snow out of it, thats what its all about not just the snow lovers at the window. Im sad I know lol
Would be great if that blob comes across. Big downgrade from BBC on radio just now. Not much to come for our area, including SE, but heavy snow predicted for Pennines/ North Yorkshire. Also a thaw setting in over Eastern Britain.
-
I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad I hope it dont been tracking it since 9 pm.
I was really hoping for something special for us this weekend but looks like we will be disappointed. Time for a cuppa.
-
Good morning. That big blob will probably break up or track SE. Of course I hope it doesn't but we shall see.
-
Well time for bed I think. Cannot see anything happening tonight. Here's to hoping.
-
Another blob forming in the North Sea. Wonder if this will do anything.
-
Looks bleak. Nothing coming our way at the moment. Will check again in a hour but not hoping for anything at the mo, but I will keep faith with some of the posts on here forecasting snow tonight.
-
I will repost my post from earlier:
The band from the Low countries is now taking a more Easterly track. You may think it doesnt look big but it is much bigger than the 2 bands that affected EA on the 17th of December. Yes it has somewhat weakened, but as it comes over the North Sea convection because of a strengthing Easterly wind will pep it up and continue to feed more moisture into the system as it reaches EA later tonight. It is likely to be light but persistant, and even light snow over a period of time can bring good falls....
Spot on my friend. That is exactly what is happening now. Thank you.

I personally think (don't hold me to it) that it is a combination of warmer sea air and the clouds, i think we could do with either moderate snow or no clouds to help keep the temps down.
However i am not 100% sure the above is true, hopefully someone with more knowledge will let us know, lol.
Cheers Big lump heading in towards Norfolk/Suffolk coast.
-
Could anybody please explain why it is getting warmer when there is a biting Easterly coming across? I do not understand this being a rank novice.
-
Looking at this http://www.buienradar.nl/ That lump is heading to the South East.
-
News 24 weather just now. Heavy snow for us all Tonight, Tomorrow and Monday. Mind you we knew that anyway
-
Had a snow shower here in Fakenham. More to come I think.
-
HAHHAHAHAHAHA just saw the bbc forcast. I am never again looking at it.
Go on tell.
-
Here's a question for you? If we are going to get lucky with the snow tonight, why is all the snow going down to the SE? It is on the Radar I am looking at anyway.
-
Just saw Anglia news. Snowing tonight, Tomorrow and Monday with drifting. Just as predicted here <_<
-
We've done quite well in N Norfolk with a good 2-3 inches overnight blown about into more impressive 6 - 8". At the moment we seem to be in a snow shield - can't quite see where the next band of precipitation is coming from. More concerning though is the rise in temps that will accompany any precipitation, especially tomorrow. GFS has dewpoints forecast to be widely at 1C across the region tomorrow which is likely to make things much more marginal. Obviously better the further inland you go, ie towards East Mids. Would be good to get some more snow though but I'm less optimistic at the moment.
That is worrying. Maybe we will be ok. Time will tell I guess.
-
Pleased that the main band is heading our way. Being in North Norfolk it might be close. Then again I am not sure.
-
Not until at least 10pm, probably not reaching me and you until 11pm and covering Norfolk maybe around midnight
Thank you for the update. Just watched N24 weather showing nothing for tonight. Mind you they seem to get it wrong
-
Looks like Norfolk is missing out again Cloudy here but thats it
Just watched the BBC online forecast, good lord - have you seen what's coming Monday??
Will we get any in Norfolk?
-
Wow If only it gets here. Do you think that lot will hit later?
-
Would be nice if this came over from Germany
-
Just looked at Meteox and there is a big blob heading through Belgium with Suffolk's name on it for later, if it does not break up.
-
Any chance North Norfolk will be hit at anytime this afternoon?

Well for my tuppence worth you have to remember that forecasting the weather is not a exact science. The MO did not get it wrong, they did not even know. Remember they only predict what could happen, not what will happen. Thats all predicting is, using the computer and seeing what it says.
