Catbrainz I’m with you, definitely some decent thundery activity but absolutely no drizzle, strong winds, or unnecessary cloud at all. I can dream Azazel Hope it clears up soon. I’ve had a vile cold for the last 10 days and it’s really getting on my t**s now but the weather is helping1 point

SunSean This sounds awesome but im willing to allow for 3-4 days of slack convective lows a month for thundery/showery interest and one frontal rainfall event per month to keep the plants and wildlife hydrated. The rain front must be overnight however and gone by morning no lingering around! :P.1 point

I’ve picked the worst time to have the most rancid cold ever though - but at least my mood is lifted tenfold1 point

Went for a nice walk this evening and still warm enough for shorts and t-shirt. As I said earlier, if it were to be like this all summer, I would be happy. Warm sunny days and evenings and then comfortable nights for sleeping. Win win!!1 point

After this weeks warmth, next weeks coolness will be stark…….1 point

I wonder, if we were to fund a new project of drilling & funnelling tonnes of hemp into the depths of the UK, would we stay under a high all year round with amazing weather for both warmies & coldies? I guess the weather probably won't work like that but imagine high pressure all year round1 point

WYorksWeather what the heck happens on Sunday for that strip from Bournemouth to north wales?1 point

Once again a quick update on UKV to see where we're getting to temperature wise over the next few days. First the 850hPa temperatures for the next 5 days (Fri-Tues): A warm pattern continuing through to Sunday with some areas maintaining warmth into Monday afternoon on tonight's run. By Tuesday 850s are close to average in the south but still a bit above further north. Main change from yesterday is a revert back to a stronger build of heat on Sunday, with 850s up to 10-11C in the mid afternoon. The difference between 8-9C and 10-11C will affect how high surface temperatures can climb on Sunday, along with surface conditions. Probably still too early to be absolutely certain about this. Next we can have a look at overnight lows from tomorrow morning through to Tuesday morning: Overall very high minima throughout in most areas, perhaps exceptionally so across central areas in the early hours of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Finally, moving on to the main event - daytime maxima: In general, a trend towards gradually increasing temperatures over the next few days - absolute maxima of 24C tomorrow, 25C on Saturday, and 26C on Sunday. Always the possibility that one or two spots will go fractionally higher, so I still wouldn't rule out 27C somewhere. Beyond that it looks like eastern areas may get another warm lunchtime and afternoon before rain pushes in. Even through to Tuesday though there is nothing overly cold showing - temperatures across most areas will be near or slightly above average.1 point

In Absence of True Seasons yeah it's still above 20C here, feels a lot like a July or August evening.1 point

Azazel One of the first evenings this year or probably the first, where you can be outside l comfortably in just a t-shirt or thin layer. It's got that residual warmth that I usually associate with July/ August. Very decent indeed1 point

Beautiful evening in lovely Sunshine. Still t-shirt weather and tea outside, following an hour or so's turf digging, after work Full day at it tomorrow, to improve the soil; which is full of stones. Will hopefully get some planting done on Saturday.1 point

Harry233 2009 is actually a really good comparison. June the best month, July horrific, and August fair. Shame we couldn’t have had a 09/10 winter redux…1 point

alexisj9 Yep, was cloudy most of the day and cold... But they don't tend to take much notice for us in east kent, it's all WARM MILD SUNNY in London1 point

Looks like @Summer8906 guess with 10th May will be the closest with the first 25C of the year likely on Friday or Saturday.1 point
-
UKV has backed off slightly today but still going for 25C both Saturday and Sunday. I'm still pretty sure we'll tick that one off the list. The next key will be the 30C mark - another warm spell later on in May could well do the job on that one.1 point
