UK Outlook for Monday 9 Apr 2012 to Wednesday 18 Apr 2012: Generally unsettled during the first week, with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain. The showers will probably be at their heaviest and most frequent during the afternoons, with some containing hail and thunder, and occasionally falling as snow over the Scottish hills. Despite this, there will also be some sunny spells in-between the showers. Rather windy to start, with a low risk of gales in the far north, although winds should generally ease through the week. Remaining unsettled into the middle of April, with spells of persistent and occasionally heavy rain likely, particularly in the north. However, even southern areas should finally see some useful amounts of rain. Temperatures will be largely around average during this period, with a small risk of overnight frosts in any clearer spells overnight.
