  1. We had a bit of freezing rain up to about midnight but nothing like a couple of weeks back when there was an inch thick glaze on all the trees etc. Temperature got above zero sometime after midnight and steadily rising to around 5 degrees and some rain and fog about, a typical grey, foggy, wet Newfoundland day! Saw some amazing scenes last night though, the sea ice is right into the shore now around here, took few pics: (was very foggy, waiting for some sunshine to return to see it all in a better light) .......

  3. UK Outlook for Monday 9 Apr 2012 to Wednesday 18 Apr 2012: Generally unsettled during the first week, with showers or occasionally longer spells of rain. The showers will probably be at their heaviest and most frequent during the afternoons, with some containing hail and thunder, and occasionally falling as snow over the Scottish hills. Despite this, there will also be some sunny spells in-between the showers. Rather windy to start, with a low risk of gales in the far north, although winds should generally ease through the week. Remaining unsettled into the middle of April, with spells of persistent and occasionally heavy rain likely, particularly in the north. However, even southern areas should finally see some useful amounts of rain. Temperatures will be largely around average during this period, with a small risk of overnight frosts in any clearer spells overnight. 4. That's rather alarming. Are there any other sources of the news? If this a one off report then it may be just being overplayed but if the concerns are being expressed elsewhere and publicly then its a lot more worrying.

  5. The footage last night shot from the news helicopter really showed graphically the strength of yesterday's outbreak. I'm pleased for the folks sat in planes out on the tarmac in Fort Worth that they didn't get hit, as they had no where to go.
