  1. Just a few from up here. The first was from my garden and the rest from a few miles out of town.

  2. Hey everyone! First post here, i'm usually in the storms chat but my god. Just wanted to share some photos on here of the aurora tonight. It was incredible, and the neighbours came out and we all stood together admiring the sky. Rambling aside here are some photos I got, using my trusty Samsung

  16. London/Kent border (with 3s exposure) - literally the most incredible thing I’ve seen. I was lucky enough to see incredible aurora for the first time in December when in Reykjavik. This possibly tops that for its colours. Amazing!

  20. Headed up to the Sidlaws for some dark skies. Parked up and looking North could just make out a little light on the skyline then happened to glance up overhead. Wow! Got home and with the naked eye could see a glow even at the edge of town but the camera picked up more.

  24. Quinach Most times that I have seen the aurora they have been on the Northern horizon or generally looking North but tonight they were overhead and in a line to the East and West and then eventually right across the sky to the South. Some reports coming in that a stronger peak is due shortly but will be too late for me.

  29. Ross90 we're in Falkirk, to the naked eye they just looked like a pale pink and white glow but when you take a photo the colours come out.

  30. Wold Topper I’m still hanging out the bedroom window, though at the mo it’s calming down a bit. It’s funny to see so many pics across the country showing off our drainpipes & guttering

  31. I’m just gobsmacked! A) can’t believe I can see them with the naked eye (not as strong colours as photos show) and b) that my camera is picking up such strong colours and I have it on 10 sec exposure but just handheld! Never held my breath so much to control the shake Quite like the window reflection on that one….

  32. Ross90 honestly, I could barely see them for most of the time and they weren't in the area I was lookingCamera picks them up way better, long exposure or borrow a different phone/camera if there's another in the house and try that.

  34. Norrance Display weakening just now so headed back, but that has to rank as the second best display in my lifetime - one in the 1980's I remember had constant waves of colour to the naked eye so will keep that as the best one ever! Just stunning though and best this century, even better that the evening is very mild a1.mp4 a2.mp4 a3.mp4 a4.mp4

  39. No photos as rushed outside and need to go down the road to avoid having lots of trees/buildings in the way... but just seen this for the first time in my life. Even with the naked eye it's an amazing sight.

  40. Not the best with the naked eye, probably to much light pollution but we managed a few decent photographs but this one is my favourite, almost immediately overhead and at the centre of what looked like a huge bow.

  41. Amazing. I've never seen them in Scotland before. They were way brighter to the south... Had to borrow the wife's iPhone as it was better at taking these photos.
