Yo Ho Ho ! - 1st Prize

Today was Milo's school fete and all the Kindergarden kids can dress up in fancy dress for a competition As we don't have any fancy dressing up stuff (apart from a sort of knight costume) we made one. Given the resources we had, we decided on a pirate. One stripy top, cut up old pair of trousers and lots of cardboard later and we had a pirate The majority of the kids turned up spiderman suits, Alice in wonderland costumes etc. I was a little worried that Milo might get upset when he didn't

Xmas Party & Nativity

It was little fella's Nativity yesterday, he was a cow. So me and hubbie when to do the dutiful parent bit. I must admit to getting a bit emotional with it all (I blame the hormones ) In true Nativity fashion, various children waved to parents when they shouldn't and Mary dropped baby Jesus But it was really sweet We had all of hubbies workmates round for drinkies and it went really well, even if I did stand up for too long and suffered for it later I've found out that I am seriousl

Xmas Eve's Eve

I am so impatient about opening pressies, not for me but I want to see what everyone else has got Just returned from a brief visit up North to see relatives and exchange sacks of pressies. We were supposed to be returning with 2 kids but they are ill, so quiet Christmas with me, hubbie and little fella (and Mervin kicking away) Really looking forward to Christmas day, although little fella was sort of into it last year, he is at a much better age to get really excited about things Anyway,

Wildlife Park

Little fella went to a Wildlife park today with Kindergarten When asking him what his favourite animal was he said "the ones we didn't see" I asked him if the Lions were more active than last time we saw them (they were sat still for ever  ) He said "they were having cuddles" When pressed he said "Daddy lion gave mummy lion a big cuddle"

Wii Fit

I was the weakest willed person on Friday, some girl walked past me with the box for a Wii Fit and (dispite saying I would not buy one) walked into a nearby store to see if they had any  Having said that though I think it is excellent. We have all enjoyed it (except Princess Tbags) Little fella ran a total of 6k today :o The yoga thing is the best bit, it can tell you on the balances how well you are doing, far better than a DVD or even a class Me - I'm queen of Super hula hoop (sway t

Why

Why do we go to the sales? It's always packed and full of c*** that they didn't manage to sell before xmas We went but ended up buying Tilly's birthday pressie at full price Why do people stop dead in front of you for no reason And why, oh why do people pull out in their cars at the last minute, when there is a good gap behind you, only to go at 30mph  Oh well, makes for a more "interesting" world

What Will Katy Do Next?

Well Hubbie is going for interviews all over the place. Although there is a possibility of local job, it looks likely that, after only 3 months here, it is likely that we will have to move again So, where next We are frantically doing what needs to be done to the house incase we are to move <_< Princess Tilly has a liking for 4am in the morning  but on the whole is very good. Having said that, a max of 4 hours sleep a night is starting to take affect and I am not a happy

What A Weekend !!

Well what a weekend I had  It was the annual Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) Farmyard Party at Duncombe Park in Helmsley at the weekend. 7000+ Bikers decend on quaint little Helmsley and liven it up for a while :o Personally I really like it, cos it can be a bit dull most of the time. It's always a good laugh, with the coppers turning a blind eye to a lot of things but there is never any trouble and if you saw the market place at 3.30pm on Sunday you would never had guessed they were there

Wet day

Today we mostly got wet  Went to a place called Bicton Park, Botanical gardens, miniture railway etc. Would have been great had it not been tippin down Princess Tilly has decided that after months of sleeping all night that 5am is the right time to wake up I hope she grows out of it very soon Other than that, we have MIL staying, not a bad thing as I get on really well with her I am starting a temp/perm job on Wednesday, which is freaking me a little bit (almost a year sinc

Well Done

Having had the mess of my car leaking oil everywhere, I finally managed to get it to the Dealership today to get it sorted. I watched through the window as they put it up on the ramps and then got covered in oil It turns out that a seal put on with the oil filter has split. They spent 20 mins sorting the oil filter and 40 mins steam cleaning the engine and twice the outside of the car. They were very nice about it all and offered free labour on my next service but I said I was moving to D

Wednesday

Oh my life is either too boring to comment about or too ******* that I can't comment about.Things are a bit stressful at the moment, on top of trying to handover my tasks, trying to move house, my kidney being a total pain (literally) I have other "things" which are doing my head in Sorry, this is getting very kriptic but hopefully things will improve when there is space between me and other people  But it seems that everythings is progressing on the house front. I'm looking forward to

We've Moved !!!

Well we have finally moved from North to South (well South West) The move itself was fairly straight forward. I was the only person who managed to break anything (a nice but fairly cheap vase) Moving into the new house was a bit depressing Having only seen it once back in September I had managed to gloss over it's bad points. Plus the previous owners had not exactly 'made good' any thing that they had removed. The carpet in the sitting room is soooooooooooo disgusting that I would not ev

Unwell

Feeling a bit sorry for myself today. I had to leave work early yesterday with a splitting headache and feeling dizzy (nothing new there)I got hardly any sleep and am really tired today. I decided to take the day off and catch up on a bit of sleep.I've been sorting out little fellas toys and old clothes in the last few days pending a car boot sale in the next few weeks to declutter the house. It's scary to see how much stuff we have accumulated, I have not bought a lot of toys but still they app

Tvs

Not a very exciting weekend, lots of sorting out what we are taking with us and what we are not bothering with. Our new house is a bit smaller than our current one (but we plan to make it bigger) so we are rationalising what we are going to take. We will need to buy a fridge and a freezer as they are not built-in as we have at present so we thought we would go have a bit of a reckie at what was out there. Little fella loved just opening doors etc  I just found it a bit boring, it's hard

Trains

Well as Shuggee was going on about trains on Saturday, we decided to go to the National Railway Museum on SundayLittle Fella really enjoyed it but give him massive steam trains, weighing 100's of tonnes, he preferred the little model railway  We then braved Toys'r'us Little Fella was asking me if Father Christmas was back off his holidays yet. I told him that he was and he was working very hard getting ready for Christmas :o Oops, forgot to mention poor little fella discovering how

Touch Down

Well after an incredibly stressful week or so, we have finally found a new place to roost  I've had a mega bad time in the last 10 days or so and would not wish this on anyone  It's an awful thing to do, looking for a new house in an area you don't know but with little ones and sorting out schools it's 10 times worse Not to mention the fact I did this only 6 months ago  Fingers crossed this will be a good move On the up side, we went to Sidmouth today and enjoyed th

Too Quick

Today I found out that our buyers want to move in two weeks time Their side of things have been holding everything up but now it seems it's all go  They are both Teachers, so it suits them to move during half term but I cannot leave work until 4th November so I will be homeless with a 3 year old I need to find out when the people we are buying from are thinking of moving before I really start to panic Anything else.....couldn't sleep last night so listened to the Paul McKenna CD at

Too Honest

Today we had to escape the house for 2 viewings (both by the same people ) so off we went to Tesco to top up the Milk stocks etc. Bought little fella some vitamin tablets (his eating habits at the mo leave a little to be desired ) and he shook them around the store happy as Larry. At the checkout I chose a chap who looked really bored. To be fair he was very nice.....a bit too nice He was very nice but then I realised that he could infact be my son, which made me quite depressed Any

Tired again

Last night was a bit of a nightmare, Princess Tilly decided to wake up at 2am, then 4am........each time staying awake for at least an hour  Usually this wouldn't be too bad but Mr Loo is out of the country at the mo (back tomorrow night) He's going to have such a nice weekend Thankfully my boss has a son about the same age as Tilly, so she is very understanding

Tired

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired today I went up North with Milo and Tilly on Saturday to see my Grandma who is not too well. She's 99 on Friday but had a bad fall and is now laid up in bed but she was over the moon to see Milo and have a cuddle of Tilly  Unfortunately Milo's little snivel turned into full blown Man Flu when we were staying at my mum's  So I had 2 very sleepless nights with my mum snoring in the other room, Milo telling me that he needed to blow his nose

Tired

Not been sleeping very well at the moment. I gave in last night and ended up taking a pain killer and sleeping on the sofa  Mind you, the sofa is very comfy I don't have much energy for much at the moment, my cooking skills are suffering and we are resorting to quick and easy meals :o But I did make Dauphinious (sp) potatoes last night with a slight twist of adding Celariac in Off to the hospital to have my kidney scanned tomorrow and see the specialist. They are going to see how m
