Occasionally, there are perks to working for the NHS. The first (since I started working there in 1996) was watching 'The Tweenies - LIVE' earlier in the year for £2 per person at Docklands Arena. The 2nd perk in 9 years is watching the preview of 'Scrooge - The Musical' at the London Palladium on the evening of 31st October. £5 a ticket!! (usually £30-ish). Well, I was woke up at 06.02am this morning by my darling Mini Me, asking if she could go in the front room to see if Father Christmas had been. By 06.07am I realised I hadnt been in a coma for the past 24 hours, and infact mini-me had got the wrong day. Bugger. Two early mornings instead of the 1. Anyway, by 08.19am, I managed to convince mini-me that Santa was coming down the chimney tonight and not today (what with it still being night at 6.02am - which she couldnt grasp meant early morning

I know I can drive* a car wearing high heels and platform shoes**. Tonight, however, I found out I can't drive wearing flip flops. Its nothing to do with being cut short height wise by 3.75", but more to do with the fact that flip flops rendered my feet useless. The soles of my feet may as well have been injected with anesthetic. I drove home in bare feet. As for teeth, mini raven has her first wobbly tooth, and boy, dont we know about it. I came home from work tonight to find my blood pressure results on the mat (well, floor, since we dont have a mat to wipe your feet) Anyway, it turns out that after 10 months of tests, they have discovered.............................................. that I dont actually have any problems what so ever with it! My 24 hour blood pressure results were: during the day - 131/81 and during the night, 124/78.

I know that most of you aren't too bothered about mini-raven's achievements (or what goes on in the land of Raven, come to think of it!!), but thought I would blow her trumpet for her anyway (plus I am bursting with proudness!)She's been at school for just over 2 weeks, and can now read 15 words, and can write some of them on her own. Mini Me gave me her Mothers Day card this morning (at 6.43am) that she made at school on Friday.
It read: To Mum, Happy Mothers Day Love From Emily.
Then, there was a little ab-lib she added this morning, all by herself (I have included the spellings, as they did make me smile)

I knew there was a point to life.
Easter weekend was spent decorating Mini Raven's bedroom. Mr Raven spent 1 hour 38 minutes helping to decorate (my stopclock was hidden) I spent 34 hours 11 minutes decorating (admitidly(sp) including drying time, and a trip to Chislehurst Caves on Good Friday)
Anyway, the yellow walls are the before pictures.
The pink walled pictures (and a lovely mini me (aka a young Catherine Zeta) looking lovely in her bedroom) are the finished bedroom decorating.
Not much else has been happening - o
She is a 2 year old rescue cat, who is very shy, but friendly. She is a very clever cat as she hides under the bed whenever Mini-Raven is in the house.
