In this summer heat and sunshine, it seems perfect to be outdoors with music, sultry evening warmth and a glass of something chilled. There are lots of events still to come before Autumn and this Bank holiday weekend there are numerous festivals taking place. it's not all sunshine and heat over the next few days but there will be lengthy fine spells, mixed with some hefty showers.

Reading/Leeds Festivals line up this weekend.Red Hot chilli peppers and Foals headlining. Stormzy, Hinds and Fall out Boy just to name a few from the Main stage. Reading has managed to escape most of the showers so far today but they are beginning to creep up towards Leeds. As people arrive today the threat of showers does remain although they should begin to fade by this evening and Reading should enjoy more very warm weather.

For Leeds, there will be a lot of fine, settled and bright weather about over the main 3 days of the festival.Today's heavy showers will clear. Temperatures will be in the low 20s, so feeling pleasantly warm without muggy sweaty humidity which may not have been so ideal in a crowd or a tent overnight. Light winds and still strong sunshine so do take your sunscreen and shades. http://www.leedsfestival.com/line-up

For Reading After today's heat and humidity and closeness, Friday will feel much more comfortable. Temperatures will be in the mid twenties so still warm but it won't be as muggy. There will be sunshine for Friday and a lot of fine, bright weather around with mainly light winds. There is the risk of heavy and thundery showers on Saturday, into the evening and possibly overnight. Something to keep an eye on. Overall not bad though. http://www.readingfestival.com/line-up

Towersey Festival, Oxon starts Friday 26th August, but campers will start arriving later today. Although there is more cloud about today, it is still very warm. With hardly any breeze it will be easy to pitch those tents, but maybe a bit sweaty. Once you're all set, for any early arrivals to break out their own instruments for impromptu jam sessions before the real entertainment starts.Heavy and thundery showers are forecast to continue to feed up through central England, but the forecastthey do ease this evening. Overnight, just a chance of a shower and it will feel really quite warm.

Towersey promised over 200 acts across half-a-dozen covered stages. With a focus on folk, roots and acoustic music, headline acts include Billy Bragg, Kate Rusby, The Wonder Stuff, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Midge Ure, Tom Robinson, and The Young'uns.

There will be more sunshine but if the heat and humidity of this week have been just a bit too much, then Friday will be warm but more comfortable with just a light breeze. Still, do take your sunscreen as UV levels remain high.

There are storytelling sessions, street theatre, award winning ales and a wine bar. At the centre of the event is the Festival Green, where you'll find everything from storytelling sessions and hands-on creative workshops, to a rolling programme of music acts in The Bar Stage and some of the best street theatre performers in the UK. Generally, over the weekend there will be a lot of fine, dry, settled weather with light winds.

However, there is a weather ‘fly in the ointment’, the threat of thundery showers for Saturday evening. Just something to keep an eye on with the Netweather Storm App, you can watch the progress of the thunderstorms and heavy showers. Also, the Met Office have issued a Yellow Be Aware warning, for heavy rain, which doesn’t quite cover Thame at the moment but the area could extend a bit southeastwards .

The light winds mean balloon trips should be possible early Friday and early Sunday, depending on the showers. Bank holiday Monday now looks quite sunny, so the weather is mostly fine for Towersey Festival 2016
