If you are out for lunch, going for a visit or a walk, how is the weather looking for Mothers' Day.
The weekend is going to bring a lot of fine, settled weather and it will feel milder, a welcome change after the wet, wintry mix from midweek.
Pressure is rising and milder air is moving over the UK.Temperatures could reach up to 17 or 18C in a few spots and there will be sunshine but it's not a straightforward spring picture for everyone.
High pressure will bring a lot of dry, fair weather, with plenty of sunshine, but there is a low pressure in the Bay of Biscay. Between these 2 are plenty of isobars, and that means windy weather. The brisk east to NE winds will only pickup through the day, becoming fresh even strong around the south coast of Britain. So, England and Wales look windy on Sunday but Scotland and Northern Ireland will have lighter winds and feel more pleasant. Western Scotland, NE Wales and Merseyside should feel warm with temperatures around 15 to 17C. Much of western Britain and Northern Ireland will feel warm and enjoy a sunny Sunday
Low cloud is going to begin to drift in from the North Sea during the day. Under the grey skies, it will feel cooler, especially with the breeze off the North Sea. Kent, the Thames Estuary having a bit of a chill by the afternoon.
So overall, not a bad effort at the weekend. Watch out for the chilly wind and Happy Mothers' Day.
