Ladies day today, don't worry it isn't going to be as muggy and humid, but still fine. Going good to firm
There is a lot of fine weather around for Royal Ascot over the next few days.
If you are worrying slightly about too much ‘glow’ on Thursday for Ladies day in this heat and humidity, there is good news. A bit of late rain on Wednesday will introduce fresher air overnight leaving a fine Thursday, with warmth and strong sunshine but not this muggy humid feel. That leaves the horses to do the sweating. Also the winds will be lighter than today.
Wednesday feeling like 28C, brisk wind and risk of showers
Thursday 18C but with a bit of a cool breeze, sunny and dry
Similar on Friday
For the actual going there isn’t any significant rain for the next few days. Current going is Good to Firm. Wednesday’s late showery bits will be patchy although there could be some hefty showers for the Home Counties on Saturday but low chance of one finding Ascot racecourse. Punters may have been left underwhelmed by Tuesday’s result unless they had worldwide knowledge of the runners, or a lucky guess.
Thursday brings the Britannia Stakes and the Gold Cup, Runner: Wind Shear
