Chilly April Showers, A Little Milder For May Day Weekend

The April showers continue , some heavy and thundery, but with plenty of sunny spells to enjoy if you're out of the chilly wind. Change on the way. Friday, drier and brighter for most, and turning a little warmer from the south west, but rain & showers will head in over the Bank Holiday weekend.

The April showers continue for now, some heavy and thundery, but with plenty of sunny spells to enjoy if you're out of the chilly wind.  Change is on the way through Friday, drier and brighter for most, and turning a little warmer from the south west.

Showers to end April, it'll be best to the west

The last day of April will be showery, especially for eastern and northern areas, while further west will enjoy the best of the bright spells but will still feel chilly in the cold wind.  Some of the showers will be heavy, with the possibility of a rumble or two of thunder mixed in.  As the showers clear into the evening and the skies clear a frost will set in, before a generally dry and bright day for most areas with rain affecting the far south west and Channel Isles.

Widespread frost early Friday (surface temperatures)

It'll start to turn a little milder from the south west as we head towards the weekend, and Saturday will start dry and bright for many areas after an early frost, but Ireland will already be under the cloud and rain that is heading our way over the Bank Holday weekend, and by evening the cloud will have reached most of the UK.  The rain will follow heading north east overnight, so it'll be a wet start for many before the rain slowly clears futher north and east thorugh the day.

It's a Bank holiday weekend, rain is traditional!

Bank Holiday monday looks a little better, but rain isn't too far way to the west, and timings aren't certain yet so keep an eye out for updates.
