After moving across the SW island of Kyushu and just south of Shikoku, ex-Typhoon Neguri is moving east, very close to the south coast of the largest Japanese island Honshu. It's path could include Tokyo on Thursday night.

There are warnings from the Japanese Met. Agency for High waves, storm surge and gales, heavy rain and landslides. As a (severe) Tropical Storm the satellite picture is more messy not the ominous circle of cloud from earlier in the week, but there are still real concerns for loss of life in the wet and stormy weather for the next few days.

Already 3 people are reported to have lost their lives with landslides and flooding devastating some areas. Hundreds of people are without electricity and many were evacuated before the storm hit.
