Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis

Saw it, missed it? Any more, what about the pesky cloud.

Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis

OOOOoh much excitement for many last night, spotting the vivid colours of the northern lights, not just in northern Scotland as usual, but much further south in the UK.
I saw my first Green lights last night in East Lothian, within a town but close to the sea, so light pollution wasn't massive. After having lived in Grampian for the past 7 years I managed not to see the Aurora in full colour, and was very disappointed when I moved away. It seems to be high on many people's list to experience. I did see whitish tinges in the sky but sometime you only realise you've seen something when it disappears.
My green vision last night was distinct but not like the amazing (time lagged) photos and no red, which many saw as the levels were so high last night.

Also hanging out of a window wasn't that conducive to good viewing. So what about tonight? Last night was the peak, some saying the peak of the past 20 years, so if you missed it, sort your social media out. Twitter was going mad. There will still be some activity tonight but at much low levels, so it is really back to northern Scotland. There will be clear skies for the Northeast of Scotland, but with more showers coming and going for the NW and the Northern Isles. The NASA link has lots of Aurora info.
