There are signs that high pressure will head our way next week but we've got to get through the weekend first. A lingering area of low pressure looks set to bring blustery winds, rain and hefty showers on Friday and throughout the weekend. You will get some brighter spells in between. Next week in the run-up to the bank holiday weekend, as pressure begins to rise, then the UK weather should settle down, temperatures head back to around average and it should seem a bit more like summer.
