Sunny, Hot Sporting Weekend In Both The UK and Russia

Football, tennis, F1 and London Pride are amongst the big events this weekend as the hot, sunny weather continues.

A huge sporting weekend on the way. And whether you're watching the tennis, the football, the F1 or all three, it's pretty much sunshine and heat all the way. The same can also be said for the bulk of the weather across the British Isles this weekend.

England vs Sweden kicks off at 3pm (BST) in Samara, and there may be a bit of cloud around to cool things off a touch, but otherwise, it's likely to be very warm and humid. At Wimbledon, highs into the thirties are expected, so that grass (along with the players and spectators) is going to start getting a bit stressed. And at Silverstone for the F1, plenty of sunshine and highs into the mid-high twenties are on the menu for both qualifying today and the race tomorrow.

It's also London Pride today, and much like at Wimbledon, it's going to be a hot, sunny one. Whether you're heading to the parade, any events or just spending some time in the garden, don't forget that UV levels will be very high, so take the necessary precautions.

Temperatures this afternoon

For all the talk of heat and sunshine, there is the outside risk of a shower or two in the far southeast during today. There'll also be some thicker cloud drifting into Northern Ireland and the northwest of Scotland at times, which may bring a few patches of drizzly rain. Temperatures today will peak into the high-twenties or low-thirties widely through central and southern England, elsewhere the low-mid twenties will be more like it.

Tomorrow will bring a bit more cloud into Scotland and Northern Ireland, with the risk of a few showers here and there as a weak weather front moves down from the northwest.

But elsewhere, there's little change with yet more sunshine and temperatures on a par with today.

The front arriving down from the northwest is going to play more of a part in our weather into next week, as it gradually slides south, introducing some cooler, fresher air, along with a bit more in the way of cloud, for a time at least. Monday though will be another hot day in southern and central regions, with the front having made its way into Northern England.

So for Scotland and Northern England, a fresher feel, varying amounts of cloud and highs into the high-teens or low-twenties. South of that, more sunshine and highs still in the high-twenties, perhaps low thirties in the southeast.

Into Tuesday, all parts (barring perhaps the far southwest for a time) will be into the slightly cooler air. It'll still be very warm, with some good sunny spells and just the outside chance of a shower in places. But maxes will be down at least a few degrees from where they have been. The slightly dampened down temperatures stick around a couple of days beyond that, but it does look like they'll be on the rise again by the end of the week.
