A warmer weekend for Snow re-arranged events and Mothers' Day

Much milder air will reach England and Wales on Saturday once the early rain clears northwards. Brighter on Sunday for everyone, with showers later in the SW. Yes, Sunday is Mothers' Day

Plenty of events were cancelled last weekend after the heavy snowfall and bitter cold, thanks to the #BeastfromtheEast. This weekend does start with rain but temperatures will be so much higher. Not bad on Sunday either for Mothers' Day, Sunday 11th March.

Saturday - Cloudy with rain. Becoming much milder

Sunday - Fine and bright with heavy showers developing for SW Britain. Still Mild

SATURDAY - Cloudy, as a band of heavy rain moving northwards. Should be away from southern Britain quickly in the morning, few showery bits to clear eastwards. Then improving for central Britain after lunch, Northern Ireland later in the afternoon. Snow on mountain tops, particularly in Scotland.

It will feel much milder for England and Wales once the rain has cleared ( a warm front heading north). Mild top temperature 15 or 16C 61F England and Wales very mild. Scotland still cold, especially in east wind.

Saturday night

Most of the UK will be in the mild air by Saturday night. The band of rain and hill snow over far north of Scotland.

SUNDAY - Mostly fine and bright. Early showers for East Anglia, then more from the SW through Sunday, into southern counties of England and Wales later in the day.

Again temperatures of 10 to 14C but with lighter winds in the north. A brisk breeze by the afternoon with the showers for SW Britain.
