For Scotland, heavy rain accompanied by gales in the west will be replaced by brighter but showery conditions through into the afternoon, some of the showers in the west will be heavy with hail and thunder, southern and eastern Scotland may see fewer showers. Northern Ireland will have a windy, bright but showery day, cloud and rain will spread in from the west during the evening. Temperatures reaching 15 °C in the south, 13 °C in the north. Breezy or windy everywhere with gales in the NW. Tonight, cloud and rain over Northern Ireland will spread east across southern Scotland, northern England and north Wales, followed by blustery showers in the west. Otherwise, largely dry but cloudy for southern areas. For Thursday, southern and eastern England will remain largely dry with sunny spells. For northern and western areas, morning showers will replaced by spells of more persistent rain from the west, heaviest across western Scotland. For Friday, dry if cloudy at first over southern and eastern areas, though patchy rain moving east, heavy rain and strong winds will affect northern and western areas for much of the day, though turning brighter and more showery across Scotland in the afternoon. For the weekend, it looks like being bright but showery on Saturday after rain clears the east first thing, though some places staying dry, very windy across the far north with gales or severe gales at first. Sunday may see cloud thicken across the southern half of the UK, with outbreaks of rain, drier and brighter elsewhere, but some showers.
