Heat and humidity will be building during the next few days with temperatures climbing into the thirties celsius. It won't be long-lived though, with a thundery breakdown on the way for the end of the week.
As heat and humidity build over the next few days, most parts see summer at it's glorious best. So it's out with that sun cream again, as UV levels will be particularly high. By tomorrow temperatures will be up to 30C in some central and southeastern parts, with Thursday seeing a sizzling 32 or 33 maybe even 34C in the hottest spots. If you don't like the heat and humidity though, a thundery breakdown followed by cooler, fresher but still showery weather by the weekend will bring some relief.
Much of Wales, parts of the West Midlands and North West England have begun cloudy, but this'll clear through the morning. You'll then join the rest of England and Wales on a beautiful day with lots of sunshine, in a light or moderate South or South Easterly breeze. It becomes very warm or hot, with temperatures reaching 27 or 28C towards the South East and 23 to 26C more generally. The East and South of Scotland also see some sunshine, allowing temperatures to reach 21 or 22C towards Lothian and The Borders. The remainder of Scotland and Northern Ireland is mostly cloudy, with a meandering Atlantic system bringing locally heavy outbreaks of rain. Here it'll be a cooler 14 to 17C in a moderate or fresh southerly wind.
Scotland and Northern Ireland see further bursts of rain into the evening and overnight, in a mostly moderate southerly breeze. In the far North and West however, skies may break at times, with the Scottish borders mainly dry with clearer intervals. Over England and Wales, a warm summery evening will be followed by a dry, largely clear night. It turns misty in places later, and with only a gentle East or South Easterly breeze, patchy fog may form briefly around dawn in rural areas. It'll be a mild somewhat humid night though, with lowest temperatures in the range 11 to 16C.
Wednesday is fine and sunny again in most parts, giving very high UV levels. So you'll certainly need that sun cream again and with the sun now at its most powerful, a hat for added protection would also be a good idea. Across Northern Ireland and the North and West of Scotland, there'll be some further rain, but this'll become lighter and patchy through the day. Temperatures across England and Wales soar to a hot and humid 26 to 30C, but with a light Easterly breeze keeping some coasts refreshingly cooler. You'll also see a very warm 22 to 25C over the East and South of Scotland and perhaps parts of Northern Ireland later. Over the North West of Scotland however, it'll be cooler In a more noticeable southerly breeze.
Northern Ireland and North West Scotland become mostly dry into the evening, with skies breaking in places after dark. Elsewhere apart from maybe the odd sharp shower over the East and South of Scotland and perhaps Cumbria it continues fine with clear spells. A very warm, humid evening over England and Wales, in particular, will be ideal for a barbecue, with a few short-lived mist or fog patches forming again in rural areas towards morning. A 'sticky' night will make it difficult for sleeping, with temperatures across the country falling no lower than 12 to 18C.
